i bought a galaxy ballast in november of '09. it was brand new at the time. i used it for about... 18 weeks. both for veg and flowering. it has already burnt out. i expected more from it. im taking it back tmw because apparently u have to unplug it for 24 hours before u take it back to the store(sunlight supply policy). because of this i had to go fork out 280 dollars on a CAP 600/400 ballast. i had two other options at the time for a ballast right away. another 400w galaxy ballast(ya right) or a 600w lumatek. which i still had a 400w bulb so in the end the 600w lumatek with a bulb would of at least been 300 dollars easily. im sure they will fix it. its still under waranty but still. if your ballast burns out your fucked unless they replace it immediately. which the place i bought the CAP 600/400 said if it ever burns out they would replace it that same day. so i guess when u buy a ballast from a hydro store that should be the first question u ask. the point of this is to let people kno that galaxy may not be the best option. and hopefully for people to leave feedback of there experiences good or bad of digital ballasts. lumatek galaxy cap and so on.
