This is my second grow and I plan on starting her off in a 1 gallon pot in fox farms ocean Forrest potting soil under a 400w metal halide 4400k 39,000 lumens bulb. I plan on starting on a 18/6 light cycle for about 1-2 months transplanting every 3-4 weeks into a bigger pot, but this time I plan on topping and a little fimming. My grow area is 5x8ft all paint is flat white, including a desk fan for the bulb and an oscillating fan to circulate the air. After work I'm going to see if the seed germinated successfully and start her tonight. Any input is welcomed.

Are you familiar with blue og?
I am running a couple myself from seeds. They are a week old. They are very indica dominate in my experience and hates topping. I grew them in past and got some freebies from attitude last week. I look forward to seeing your journal. In am vegging / flowering all with CFL.

Haha I'll believe you rocked a blue flag in you "crib" haha jokes. So she don't like topping?
She did not but I did it anyway. If u don't top them...they will go Christmas on you. I don't run tall plant because CFL does not penetrate trees.

I usually start to top my girls when I see the third pair of leaves. Some might say that's a bit early, but do this so the end results looks like two plants growing in one pot. I will post pictures later today to explain. So, would you like i share any insightful information for me and the RIU members? Knowledge is king.

I had just messed around with my ONE freebie blueOg. Wasn't anything special. Stretchy, and not so big of buds. Decent frost, but smells of celery+ a very faint hint of the Blueberry. Not that stoney either.
Definately below average smoke, if you like og's;-)
Not so good of pheno I guess? I wish you guys more luck then I had.

I'm on my very first grow. I have 8 about a week from sprout. One of these is a g13 blue og as well. She was the first to sprout and looks to be doin well. I hope she turns out better than average but I'll take whatever ya know. Being my very first go at this I'm sure I'll make a few rookie mistakes.

It's truly a one of a kind experience, you have any questions so far?

So many questions. I've done so much research and googling and reading. I almost feel like information overload ya know. There's so many different opinions on just about everything. It's hard to know who to listen to. I'm sure a lot is just going to be trial and error. My question right now is I'm using the fox farm soil. Am I suppose to add nutes? Or just rely on what's in the soil? And if I do. When to start?

From what I've leaned soil has enough nutrients in it for up too a month I believe some plants eat it up quicker then others it all depends. Anyways the guys at every grow shop told me you could flower with just soil but you need to transplant and add new soil everytime so the plant gets nutrients throughout its life cycles, or you could transplant wait until you switch too 12/12 and after the stretch I believe you could add nutrients in high phosphorous and low nitrogen.
