FYI: Apartment Grows, go Submetered

This is just an FYI for people that wanna grow in an apartment complex even tho most people say not to do this, you can do what I did and put together a huge box with carbon filter etc.

I moved to a new apartment that had something called Submetered electricity. What it means is that the apartment only has 1 meter, and their only way to charge everyone for the use is to divide it evenly. To give an example of how beneficial this can be, my electricity bill was 15 dollars this month, and I have dual computers and a water distiller, the 400 watt light, and all kinds of other shit running 24/7 like the air conditioner.

Long story short, it makes it fucking cheap. My electricity bill will still probably be around 15 dollars/mo when im running 2 1000w lights and a 400w mh (lots of people in my complex)

Now if I had to pay for all this electricity every month, I probably would be skimping on lights, and not running AC at all. Might even move to just 1 computer.

Since everyone else pays for it, like socialism, I can abuse the shit out of it and others will pay the difference. Can't wait till they socialize medicare(not really) ill be getting check ups regularly, which I havent done in years, and everyone else will pay.

1 electricity meter. If I do not disrupt electricity within the complex im good.

dude if the whole buildings bill shoots up like that the management will look into this. i live in a place like that too and i would never run 2x1000s no matter what its gonna spike and its gonna raise eye brows

If there are a lot of people on that meter 2000w won't be bad since the bill will only go up a little in comparison to previous bills, but if it's a smaller complex then you may be screwed. It's much safer when you have your own meter and pay your own bill. This way it's more likely they'll notice an increase.

It also helps if you know the maintenance man, and he smokes weed. I do, he does, and hes in the inner circle. The other day he was letting my buddy here know that undercovers may be in the complex looking for a meth lab. They may be looking for smells, but they are not going to sweep the entire complex.

i have lived thru 2 apt. grows over the years. So cal Apt. was off tha hook. ran like clockwork for 3 crops, got infested with spider mites so bad, aborted the show. 2nd run 1 bedroom apt, lol i lived in the living room for 9 mos. Replaced bedroom door and frame with steel door, veneer outside to give it "the look". Nuts in my throat every time I ducked out for 20 mins to go to the grocery store and get home. That was a 2k grow. Bottom line, unless the DEED is in your name, property management/ owners etc can and will let popo's into your spot legally without warrant. BTW no alarm clock needed if your timers are on 6am-pm cycle, the HPS ballasts woke me up like clockwork. If you find yourself in an apt and just have to grow. Pay attention to how the apts. are setup in your complex. Most cookie cutter apts. even have outlets in the same spot. So.... i.e. your bedroom wall outlet is mirrored to the neighbors. kill the breaker, get a phillips n a flash light and go check.

Yeah, probably best that you have the breakers in your apt. I do. Also for these people that say 2000w is going to raise alarms.

Do you think 2 space heaters and 3 computers would raise alarms? I dont. I run shitloads of computers, sometimes three just for my own setup.

As always, use discretion. The idea is to never give anyone a reason to discover the grow. Electricity equivalent to 2 space heaters and 3 computers is no reason. And when the bill is spread out very thin, its even better. Use discretion. Of course id like to grow in a house, but that isnt an option right now.

And this was just an "If you gotta do the apt thing go submetered" type deal. Dude is right about the landlord, they can let cops and themselves into your apt.

i would say if thats what your doing be careful and dont think your in the clear do you think anyone would save your ass over a job, or whatever, i mean you have your mind set. But have you ever heard the saying 'too good to be true' I flip when i leave and i dont live in an apartment ........... gl....... you just might need it!

I wouldnt count on anyone to save my ass, but it is a perk to know the maintenance man. This is a small town operation with a leasing agent and a maintenance guy. I learned that the leasing agent either cant smell or doesnt care about weed the first day we got here. Long story. I feel warm and cozy here, but im not in the clear, I know that.
Im not in the clear, none of us are. But..
1) They wont smell it
2) They wont see it
3) The electricity increase is that of 2-3 computers and 2 space heaters
4) Im not turning this into a drug den where im answering the door every 15 minutes having short visits etc.

Thats as clear as I can get, and im doing it.

good luck..im sure you can pull it off, all i was saying is that dont think there isnt a risk here..just dont get too comfortable.
