Funky bud formation. Possible Causes

Hello I'm interested in what everyone thinks might be causing some of the strange bud development I've been witnessing. I am growing under 400w hps lights with older hortilux bulbs. I have a sealed room that stays around 1200 ppm. I'm using a CHH4 sentinel controller. I have been keeping my temps in lower to upper eighties wth occasional highs exceeding 90. Throughveg and flower. I have had occasional high humidity but its downaround 50% as of recent dehum. Change. Im growing in a custom blendedorganic soil mix in cloth pots. The mix is coir and peat based, withcompost, ancient forest, worm castings, small amounts of guano, lime, greensand, bonemeal, and a few other amendments in small quantities.Ive been feeding with Biobizz topmax and Fish mix, as well as Earthjuice bloom and micro and general organics humic acid.. I supplement with sea green, true blooms, molasses, and epsom salts on occasion. Now the strains in questionare sleestack x skunk#1 and a fem white widow. These two strains camefree when I ordered my mickey kush and cheesequake through seedsman. The bud formation on both of the latter strains is mostly uniform anddoesnt exhibit the same patterns I see in the sleestack and widow.Maybe thats why they were free? I tend to assume I'm more likely atfault than the genetics, although I'm curious if others have hadsimilar problems with these strains. These buds if not evident in thephotos are 5 and ½ weeks into flower and seem to be stretching orstunted or a combination of the two. They are spiky, being moreslender towards the top, not very dense with underdeveloped calyxesand very weak pistils. The pistils towards the top of the bud arenoticeably shorter, more sparse and not as vigorous as I wouldexpect. The coloration of the buds seems to be a little paler than Iwould also expect. They almost appear to be stretching and thetrichome production isn't stellar. Again the calyxes are very small, stunted even and the hairs are fewer towards the top. I have includeda pic of one of my cheesequake flowers for comparison which is underthe same growing conditions.

Has anyone had the same experience with slender, spikey, underdeveloped buds? What might be the possible/ most likely causes. For what its worth I'm leaning towards heat stress, not from thelights but just ambient temp. in the room. Some of my max valuesclimbed above 100 a few weeks ago although this problem has sincebeen fixed. As recently as last night I also taped any led lightsbeing emitted from my fans, env. Controller, and heater in case thatwas effecting them. I imagine it could be many possible things andprobably a combination. Thanks for reading, responding and feel freeto ask for additional info if it will help you determine possibleissues Thanks. Ok sry noob to the foum pics wont upload as easily as I had hoped don't be scared to sendme a link on how to post pics. thanks again

Pic not there...high heat causes odd growth sometimes and produces low potency green hay..need to keep your temps Under 80 always..that is surely the cause

Great thanks for the swift replies. I have been keeping temperatures higher than normal due to the fact I'm using CO2 however Im inexperienced with CO2 so chances are I'm just trying to get too much out of it by keeping my temps on the high side. Ive heard conflicting reports on how high to run temps. Ive recently changed my max to 84. I do think I was pushing my luck with my temps. Can I expect to see any recovery in the coming weeks? Had trouble uploading. not sure why. I know pix are worth a thousand words sry.

Unrelated question, but how are your yields using a 400w hps? Like, average per plant. Sorry for being a disk and not helping out too, haven't seen something like that before.

Hey no worries. I'm running 4 enclosed hoods on older hortilux bulbs. This is my first run I will certainly let you know in several weeks time. I hope to see improvement with new bulbs. cheesequke on left. sleeskunk on right
