After a few years of successfully growing in hempy buckets, I am going to go organic!!!
I love hempy style growing except the chemicals, runoff and flushing were very cumbersome.
So after months of research and testing with vegetables, I have decided to make the switch!
I have built 6 modified 5 gallon hempy/earthbuckets (1.5 inch pipe doesnt grow thru top bucket into the bottom bucket. It is centered on a 1.5 inch hole instead), 1.5 inch wick thru center and ½ inch hempy hole only 1 inch above bottom of top bucket and ½ hempy hole in bottom bucket lined up with hempy hole in top bucket. The hempy hole purpose is to make sure I dont overwater and for aeration, not for a reservoir since the bottom bucket will serve that role.
I have multiple CFLS and a 4 inch fan in the veg room.
I have a 600 watt air cooled light with 6 inch fan and a 4 inch carbon filter/fan in the flower room.
I am going harvest a plant every 2 - 3 weeks(depending on strain)
Base soil mix (six 5 gal buckets or aprox 4 cf.):
3 parts Peat moss (15 gals)
1 Part Coarse Perlite (5 gals)
1 Part EWC (5 gals)
1 Part Compost (5 gals)
1 cup dolomite lime (per cf)
Fertilizer mix (Per cf):
Tomato Tone 2 cups
Kelp Meal ½ cup
Alfalfa Pellets 2 cups
Only the base soil mix (no ferts) will be used in clone/early veg stages.
Base soil mix & fert mix "cooks" from 3-4 weeks before use in the 5 gal buckets
The bottom 2 inches of the 5 gal bucket will contain nothing but perlite.
The rest will be the soil/fert mix ending 2 inches below the top rim, in case I need to top dress.
Tea:
EWC - 1/3 gallon
Compost - 1/3 gallon
Alfalfa Pellets - 1/3 gallon
Aerated in a 5 gallon bucket over night before use
This is bascially the same schedule that I used with straight hempy but wanted to point out when I would apply the tea(AACT).
Schedule
Clone/Veg room
Weeks 0 - 2 (2 new clones)
Weeks 2 - 4 (clones transplanted into 16 oz plastic cup)
Weeks 4 - 6 (best clone transplanted into 5 gallon bucket)
Weeks 6 - 8 (2 new clones taken at week 7)
Flower Room
Weeks 8 - 10 (1 gal AACT @
Weeks 10 - 12
Weeks 12 - 14 (1 gal AACT@ 12)
Weeks 14 - 16
Let me know what you guys think!!!!!!
