Has anyone tried these yet? I came across them while checking out stealth grow setups and they sound a bit too good to be true but I've read some decent reviews so idk...

Fresh² Odor Eliminating Light Bulbs?

I know from my days keeping salt water fish tanks that UV lamps can be used to kill pathogens and clean water but you have to filter the water after it gets treated by a UV lamp because it generates ozone. That's how it cleans the water with ozone. These don't work that way and claim to only act as an inert catalyst to eliminate odors.

It does not scent the air just causes a reaction that makes the smells fall out of the air so all you smell is fresh. No ozone, no nuttin just clean air.

They make 3 with the most interesting to growers being the 27W 2700K bulb rated at 1850 lumens.

I had a problem ordering the deal direct from them but places like 10000bulbs.com have them listed so I'm not really thinking scam here.

Does anyone here have them?

Sorry if this is a repost about these but I didn't see anything.

I have had the bulbs for a while now but I haven't really been able to put them to any sort of real test.

Do they work at all? Yes!

I have one in a very large room and if it's on long enough you notice the difference. The house is old and the room sometimes gets a bit of a musty smell when its damp for long periods and there is no doubt this bulb is able to clear up the room of smells it just takes a while to get going. I do see a pretty fast effect on smoke particles though even in this 12'x24' room.

I have a second bulb in an avg med sized bedroom turned office that is on anytime someone is in the room and it takes care of that room nicely of normal everyday smells. I'm not so sure I'd be willing to give it a stamp of approval for being able to clear the smell out of a room someone smoked a joint in but that's only because I haven't truly tested it.

I am convinced the bulbs work I'm just still not sure how well. Maybe using a few of them for certain applications will be the answer, they are cheap enough AND can kill a couple of birds with one curly stone. They seem to have good lumen output, they claim 1600, I'm sure that's pumped but for 23w this thing is bright. I'm sitting under one now that is in a two bulb fixture. It's bright enough (and good enough spectrum for seeing anyway) by itself that I unscrewed the other bulb and my eyes are still able to fully relax in this room. Even staring at a monitor for hours. 2700k is still a bit more yellow than I'd like but it's way less than most other bulbs but 2700k is useful.

The only thing that bugs me about using these IN a grow would be what do you do when the lights are off? I suppose you could use these to build a air cleaner unit with no light leaks but it would be MUCH easier and cheaper build a negative ion generator with a typical needle ionizer you can get for like $10.

I'm sorry I haven't updated sooner pete but I've been a bit hesitant about saying anything with only light household use to back up my post.

One variation on these I think they should do is a very low watt version so you could leave the bulb on 24/7 if you want. As low wattage as still works well for cleaning air and gives enough light to be used as a nightlight would be perfect. There are times where it's just too much light but I still want to leave the air cleaner on...the nightlight is just a bonus selling point. Or vise versa.
