You won't need nutrients for 3 weeks to 1 month at most using FF OF. But you should feed at least twice after that time with veg nutes. Use the rule - Feed, water, water. Feed, water, water. By then it will be time to flower them. Change to bloom nutrients then.

If yer talking about guano, fish emulsions and all that other stuff to amend your soil i would say no_Ocean forest has alot of good stuff in it,including kelp and good mico bacteria and stuff(i use O.F. almost always). you probably wont have to worry to much about adding nutes right away. maybe till flowering.Unless your going for big plants ..lol...this is all IMO..
peace and happy growing
I have been starting beans in happy frog lately and they love it ! I have 1 i started for a thread iam going to post, and at 2 weeks i have her topped and l.s.t. with four mains.pics will be with post.bong time!!:leaf:

Heres my trick to using ocean forest and no extras. just water. Transplant 3 different times. First transplant is weeks before flowering. Then once you switch to flowering, Transplant into 2 gallons bgger of a pot each time. Go from1 gal to 3 gal. And 3 gal to 5 gal. ANd then you should be done about 3 or 4 weeks after the 5 gal

I used just ffof on my first grow and got 2 oz off of two ladies so my yield probably would of been better but it's possible giving everything else is as far as conditions is good

I have used FFOF for 3 grows of 10 total plants and had zero problems with my seedlings going straight into it. I germ using the paper towel method and then straight in FFOF. I use it mostly because it's the only brand they stock at my local hydro store but I haven't had any problems with it.

I use their entire line even the new root mixes. The ladies love every week of it. O and btw the strains im growing went from paper towel or cloner stright in ffof and didnt burn at all.

No. You can just use "as is". But. FFOF does not have enough pH buffer material in it so the dolomite lime is a must IMO. A 10-30% mix of perlite would help with drainage and aeration more. And the worm castings I suggested are just a extra but they truly help with overall plant growth.

As for young seedlings I would definitely mix in something low or non-nuted rather then use full strength FFOF. I've done both but since I've stopped using full strength FFOF in my first container I've had zero issues with early burn which can happen on some strains in FFOF.

You are smart asking the questions before you start, always good to go in as prepared and informed as possible. But remember. You are going to get tons of opinions on what to use, when and how and ect. But the simplest way to grow marijuana in all my experiences is in FFOF right out of the bag withe the extras I mentioned. IMO

Most strains do not burn in straight FFOF but some do.

Are you referring to the newer kangaroots and microbe products? If so I agree. I have had my best looking early veg grow this round using both of those products along with Great White.

i like to mix 1/2 FFOF and 1/2 Happy Frog with a couple handfulls of perlite thrown in. <-----100% recipt for sucess!
I mix my own soils. However, this winter we had record snowfall with over 14' at my house. On top of that Spring was not! On to Summer which was July 18th I think and I was working and missed it. In short it was impossible to get loam dropped here until way too late in AK.

So to the store and the guy recommends FF OF even though I said I did NOT want fortified soil. I work weird schedules but work 13-15 hours straight when I do and got in a hurry and planted in it. Things went great until I transplanted into my standard 22-gallon barrels to flower them. Now I feed to the plant, not the schedule and fed maybe one time during veg. They looked great and were green and lush (I know why now).

OK transplanted using new FF OF to fill the huge void going from 3 gallon to 22-gallon. Now I had learned it was fortified so water, water, then half-strength bloom nutes (AN Sensi Bloom A&B). N+ OD overnight. Now tip curl doesn't freak me. It's whats going on metabolically and hoping I haven't started nute lockout. Turns out I didn't. They recovered and are going into 6th week of flowering. I added FF Beastie Bloomz the 2nd feeding. 2.3 grams Shooting Powder in 1 gallon of water for the 3rd feeding and thats all in that one. Then back to feed, water, water and begin flushing.

No outdoor for me this year. Sadly!

Caution with FF OF for the first month whether vegging or flowering when new.
