fox farm nute question....

so ive purchased the big bloom liquid nutes.....my question is ive always just used tiger bloom during flowering an didnt nute during veg but im wanting that extra push to get a better result...the fox farm chart says to use big bloom from seedling to end only lowering the dosage after week 4.....but it says on the back of bottle to start using once plants have reached max veg growth? ive been using the big bloom from seedling as directed by the fox farm chart......my plants dont seem to be affected in a negative way...plus i noticed that the big bloom has low levels of nitrogen in it....which is the main nutrient for veg growth....am i doing anything wrong?

I always start when they are 3 or 4 weeks. You said it hasn't affected them so I'd say you haven't done anything wrong. The reason to wait till they are a little older is they have a better root system and there is less chance of killing them if you happen to give them too much.

fasho....the only reason why i ask is becasue i staggered my ladies there are like 4 days in between sum of the ladies so the a few of the smaller ones have yellowing on them as if they arnt getting enough nitrogen...im using all organic soil.....

Your fine using big bloom during veg. Use the chart half strength. Big bloom is good stuff...Tiger Bloom is freakishly acidic, and not organic. Get a ppm pen if you don't already, cuz a little TB goes a long way and it is easy to get over 1000ppm.

Oh and what ever you do, do not follow the dosage directions on the bottle of BB! Follow the chart (1/2)

thanks for the reinsurance man ya the bottle wasnt making sense to me so i kept to the chart so its kewl to keep using 2 tbl per gal every watering then...or 1 tbl per gal

Ignore the bottles bud and dont pay atention to dosage amounts on the chart and use your PPM pen if u got one... ive used all the foxfarm nutes since i started growing years ago.. here is what I do...

I use the "fox farm oceanic forest" soil so i dont need any nutes for the first few weeks.. i simply use 000 ppm rain water.. once i am ready to use nutes i use the fox farm "Grow Big" which is the best stuff to pump steroids into your plants veins.. grow big makes your plant GROW FREAKIN BIG and fast.... for my kids that are 3 weeks old i use 900PPM of Grow big + 100PPM of Big bloom (the muddy stuff).... I use the grow big almost continousley throughout the grow.. then slow down on the grow big towards the end of flowering and add more Big bloom and start adding Tiger bloom towards the middle of your flowering.. which maxes out the size of your buds.. a little cha ching helps towards the end to

Hi, Naw I don't think you're doing anything wrong and I agree with the post that suggested diluting Fox Farms nutrients is a good way to go.
The Big Bloom will help create a big root system but I add it only as a part of a mix for veg stage. I like to use & mainly use the Grow Big all through the veg stage. It gets them up and growing faster, soil or hydro. (I even add some to the flowering mix for leaf health & function). But I find dilution is the solution. When I've used recommended dosages I find more salt issues and burning.
I even use the same dilute solution that feeds my mother plant to feed my clones. They root a 3" rockwool cube in less than 2 weeks and with no bent or burnt tips. Anyway experiment, the plants will tell you what works for them.

1T. The PPM pen is good advice, but since I do not make up gallons and gallons, a measuring spoon is a good guide. As all these should be shaken (more solids, more ppm) and it is easy to over flow a spoon a little checking the ppm is good.

The chart has you back off the GB and then give it a big dose about week 3 of flower then none for the last 5 weeks.

The previous advice to use all the way through is probably pretty good, but understand Nitrogen inhibits flowering a little, and GB is NOT organic.

I ran out of BB and have use some old Blue Mountain Organics. I have been using 2T bloom and 1 T grow for the whole flower cycle every other watering (in coco/perlite) As an example of why you need a ppm pen, the instructions are to not exceed 1T in 1 gallon of water. I am using 3 and the ppm is around 700. 1T gives a ppm under 300 in RO water...my tap can exceed 600ppm!
