Fox Farm Feeding Schedule Creates a Low PPM Feed

I am currently using the entire Fox Farm line. If you follow their suggested feeding schedule your feed will be about half the suggested PPM the same schedule suggests. This is the Fox Farm's Feeding Schedule . Take the 2nd week of flower (week 6), they suggest 1Tbl Big Bloom, 2 Tsp Tiger Bloom, .25Tsp Open Sesame, 1 Tsp Kangaroots. All that with pH up creates a solution with a PPM of about 750-800. But they suggest 1190-1330.

So what are you suppose to do? Give the plant more nutes in the same ratio they suggest?

To be honest I follow my journal, I've only been working with the trio pack - I mix the nutrients in a 20 gallon container and go from there. I have 1 container for vegging and 1 for flowering... I feed half a cup of nutrients once a week to each plant and so far it's been working. I don't want to over do it with FF soil since it already comes rich with nutrients. And so far both of my grows have been sucessful. Following the Trio Pack is safer and easy.

You have to be careful with these nutrients (powerful stuff) because these are meant more for vegetables, Tomatoes, and what not, Marijuana plant is alot more delicate with this schedule.

Well in my opinion ---------- had to flush my plants once due to this schedule. So I just decided to feed when I see it's necessary, once I got it down and able to read my babies I went and fed using my Log.

Right, which is really low. So are you suppose to add more or just keep feeding it a really weak solution.

I grow in soil but i mix my solition and measure my ppm before feeding. I have found that with the sensi bloom a & b i am using calls for 2.8 something tsp per gallon for around 1200 ppms but when i measure it (even with my water ran thru a brita filter sits about 80 ppms) hits around the 1000 mark. I mix in 1/2 tsp at time till i reach my desired ppms then water. Hope this helps some and good luck!!!

<--good answer
I have a sativa that does best with very low nutes,(1/4 recommended). My kush did best at high ppm (1x recommended). the real ? how are your plants responding to to the nutes? trial and error if they look good go with it and keep a journal and maybe next go up the nutes a little as you see fit. :leaf: keep it chronic!

Crazy no one knows why the ppm doesn't match their schedule because I'm having the same issue. Perhaps they say it's "hotter" than it actually is? If that makes sense... I'll be calling the company tomorrow. I know their ppm conversion rate is .7 and I have a Hanna tds reader (.5) but once I do the conversions I'm usually like half the ppm I should be when adding the suggested tsp measurements.

schedules are guidelines based on selling you the most shit, and making you use the most of it. It is completely self-serving to the manufacturers. By the time you hit bloom you wont be using the schedule, in my opinion.

Im a builder and I research everythign to death...Just grow and start at 1/4 and go from there, you'll figure it out.

Yea I started around 1/4 or 1/6 with the nutes. My girls have loved them, no defienciencies or burns but did a full strength mix last and realized the ppm didn't add up. The ppm guidelines must just be for the "hottest" bottles.. I heard they aren't completely consistent from bottle to bottle.

I'm not having any issues, just curious about the ppm thing. For now I'll just assume it's a consistency thing. Thanks for the input Brandon!

The above post is spot on .....you don't need all that shit ...your buying snake oils homie .....the only thing you need to grow some serious dank is ....Grow Big,Big Bloom,Tiger Bloom......those are known as the big three as far as fox farms nutes .....those three alone are all you need ....when I was young I tried all the other bullshit ...no difference at all ......Grow big should be started at 1/4 strength it's strong stuff ....Tiger Bloom I start at 1/2 strength when bloom starts ......the Big Bloom is the only full organic of those three ....you can use it at heavy feedings with no issues ....infact I still use Big Bloom in my greenhouses to this day .......like I said , using just those three and some molasses to feed the soil has been very very successful for me ....don't waste your money ....GL hope that helps

Yea I personally don't use any snake oils lol. Only the fox farm trio.

I'm not wondering what to use or how much, I was just wondering why there is a guideline of ppm to use when their ppm doesn't match the teaspoons.

Unless I'm reading it incorrectly, the soil feeding schedule says that 6tsp of big bloom = 420-560ppm. But as a test, I put the full amount and it was half the ppm the guide says it should be.
It's honestly not important on the least bit. Jw why I bought a TDS meter if I can't compare it to the schedule properly.
Basically just curious lol. After a bit of research I think the ppm amount is just the max for the hottest bottles..
Much love!

Do yourselves a favor and change from Fox Fart. It is my least favorite line and is really pushed to new growers for some reason. Most people quickly learn there are MUCH better to use and switch up. Not knocking some of there soil products but there bottled liquid line is garbage.

Did you get a response from Fox Farm they say they base their ppm value from using their tap water it is low because my RO well water is very low what line of products would you recommend?

The Canna line if you can afford it. The best synthetic you can use and also most expensive. I have all my new growers use it. The coco line in coco of course. Follow the feeding chart and have great results on there very first grow.

Even though this a old post, I have to reply, its tiger bloom that is the problem. People think that it should be used all the way through flowering and it should only be used from week 7 onward. Anyhow, if using FF when flowering using a combination of GB, and loads of BB is what will flower you the best that FF can give you! I posted about that the other day.... Link
