forcing back into veg

one of my friends the other day had said something about changing to 12/12 just long enough to sex the plants, eliminate the males and then force them back into veg by going back to whatever schedule you had in the growing phase.

i'd never heard of this before, is it a good idea?.. or is it something everyone knows about but me?

Yea you could do that, its just going to slow the growth.

also bye doing that you could cause the plant to stress out and cause it to go hermie.

I did this with some killer bagseeds that I have accumulated over the pounds of dro I have bought and smoked. I was just lucky I guess I did not have any hermies after the switch back. The lighting was from 18-6 to 12-12 then back to 18-6.

Just threw some double gum and hashberrry in the box to be sexed also if they hermie I'll be posting away about it but that'll be weeks away before I see the effects but past forcings have been good? Any professionals/experts have any input?
