forced registration with an LP is a privacy breach

I have been thinking about legal challenges and/or defense arguments concerning the MMPR. While John Conroy will likely be successful in arguing the 'reasonable access' angle resulting in keeping the status-quo, at least temporarily, there is another argument that could be used. Why are marijuana patients forced to disclose their personal medical information to complete strangers in order to get medicine. Would a cancer patient be forced to register with the manufacturer of chemo drugs? How about having to register with Pfizer to be able to use Viagra? There is absolutely no way that would EVER be allowed for patients who are prescribed ANY other drug, why doesn't the Harper government think I deserve the same respect and dignity? I don't know who these LP's are or what criminal organization they are affiliated with and I certainly don't want them having my name and address, much less any knowledge of my health condition.

That is one of a few things I dislike. I will not sign up to buy anything from anyone for a year. I didn't have to sign an agreement with shoppers to buy my morphine. This limit bull shit is another. I will be paying for shipping 3 fucking times...and it will probably have to be trackable so that's gonna cost. I don't think you have to disclose your medical condition. I think the LP's are trying to match strain to illness ( hahahahaha). It's all around not a very well thought out plan.

It doesn't even matter on the strains they will be selling when the patient gets it, it's a ground up pile if shit with stalk leaves and seed not to mention those yummy gamma rays from being irradiated

Are you insinuating there was SOME thought put into this?lol I have faith in John Conroy to win the restraining order and then stall long enough to force legalization as an election issue. At least two more states are legalizing in November of this year and public opinion keeps getting more on the side of ending prohibition. I'm 50, never been arrested, not even a traffic fine, and I become a criminal of April 1st. Oh well, If growing my medicine is such a danger to society I guess they better lock me up!

Great idea! And hide it some place. Cops will take it as evidence should your front door come down

noobie here.

I'm afraid I don't understand how registering with an LP is worse than taking a prescription to the local pharmacy. As soon as I plunk down a script for blood pressure meds or anti-depressants everyone behind that counter knows exactly what is wrong with me (add in a little conjecture and it becomes worse). So what? Why should providing even less info to a LP be a problem? I didn't fill out the part of the form that asks about my illness, and all they will get from my doctor's office is confirmation that the prescription is valid, same as if the pharmacy called the doctor's office to confirm dosage. I don't see how that constitutes a breach of privacy.

I really don't understand either, I think the list of hoops we had to jump in the Kelowna Compassion Club (Bekind), was more extensive than what an LP is required to ask for.

Original ID's, would not accept SIN card, some required reading and listening, all with the assurance it was "for our own good". 35 minutes for single sign up and purchase.

1/2 ounce sativa 80$ -- 1/2 ounce kush 90$. Both pretty good stuff, smallish buds even with the kush. Preformed properly in all other areas.

Using that logic, you would have no problem having to register with Pfizer to get Viagra or signing your daughter up with the makers of birth control pills? The LP's are not a pharmacy and they manufacturer of my medicine does not need to know my name and address. If it is not required to register with the manufacturers of all drugs, it is alsodiscriminatory and a charter violation.

LP's are being forced to play all those rolls, kicking and screaming.

Where are the pharmacists that should be here to protect us from ourselves and marihuana?

They should be the ones dispensing medicine and keeping our information safe?

But that is not the way of HC.

Welcome to the club GSPH.

No one is forcing LP's to do anything. I believe you're choosing to deal with all this crap! And that is what it is...crap. I'm the only one who should be in charge of this medication. I'm the only one who can speak to what it does for me.

Semantics, if you want to grow cannabis legally, you have to play pharmacist and web page maintainer among many other hats. You are just being argumentative.

You're such a hypocrite it's getting so old already.
You act like you have to give people your approval on what they say in THEIR section of this forum.

Why don't you ask the mods if you can start up an LP section of the forum? Then you can hang out with all of your other wannabee's.

Let the patients talk with patients without sticking your head in everything that's said between them.

Yes it's an open forum but even with that there has been specific sections of this forum set aside for JUST PATIENTS. You should respect that.

It's pretty clear what the consensus is here between all the patients and how they feel.

There is a good feature on this site. Go to the wannabe's or trolls page and add them to ignore. Works great. I added FlunkyDoris on there too. Been on this site for years and they are the first Ive had to do this with. Now instead of idiot ramblings, I get this.

This message is hidden because Kootenaygirl is on your ignore list.
