I feed water only for 10-14 days before harvest. I call it a "cleanse" not a flush, letting the plant consume what remains. If you need to flush faster than that, you could use one of the flush additives which are sucrose-based, releasing the ionic bond of salts in the soil to help them flush away.I'm also growing in soil but the taste of my last grow had a bitter chemical taste it so this grow i have decided to flush go around
I find and agree a long cure is really the only essential step here for a good taste and smoke.I grow in soil so don't bother flushing. Makes no difference to smoke and taste. It's the drying and curing
That's the best Thing you can do to ensure a clean smoke. Always flush.I'm also growing in soil but the taste of my last grow had a bitter chemical taste it so this grow i have decided to flush go around
You know you have good tasty bud from a flushed bud from the first smoke and can guarantee that a week cure would give u a great smoke, the smell for sure would be more distinct and appealing in most cases. If you have to be waiting for a good long cure to get ya good taste n smoke from not flushing then there's something not right.I find and agree a long cure is really the only essential step here for a good taste and smoke.
Contrary to common belief, flushing does not starve the plant, the medium is the sole concentration of flush products and helping to breakdown the build up of salt on the roots. The leaves are food stores (this we all can agree on) the stored food in the roots too don't forget that it's not what's inside that's being flushed so take note, at week 6.5/7 the girls slow down in their intake of our nutes and solely concentrate on using all remaining energy stored to fill, dense out more and fragrance the room with an even more appealing scent. This is because the plant knows it is going to die and is preparing for it to be taken n knocked back by a stout male. With this knowledge you learn that flushing in the last 7-10 days ensures your plants are able to take in their stored food from within themselves which in turn for us gives a cleaner more fulfilling smoke with less to no chemicals potentially ruining taste n smoke. The use of water after using flush formular is so that the broken down salt is washed away, not to disturb the plant from its natural process. Outdoors this process is done by all the organisms and rain too so the argument nature doesn't flush is in term incorrect. Nature does flush but as we become the playmakers in doors we need to do what we can to replicate nature. If nature didnt naturally flush PhD scientist and botanist wouldn't come up with a flush product.Toilets are for flushing. Starving your plant definitely detracts from your harvest yields and quality imo. If not overfed or fighting salt build-up then flushing is a bad thing imo.
.....once again, do what you do cause it is what it is. I don't really care if you flush or not, a long cure is not supposed to be substituted for any reason. You know you have good tasty bud from a flushed bud from the first smoke and can guarantee that a week cure would give u a great smoke, the smell for sure would be more distinct and appealing in most cases. If you have to be waiting for a good long cure to get ya good taste n smoke from not flushing then there's something not right.
Dont mind me though because only a blind bat couldn't see that one.
