Flushing necessary?

Is flushing necessary when growing a plant in soil? I never added nutes when watering just molasses. It was in MG so nutes were already in the soil.

If you don't then the plant doesn't consume the nutrients stored in the leaves and thus the harvested bud will taste like cut grass and be harsh to smoke, not to mention to potential hazards of smoking chlorophyll and nutrients. The plant doesn't consume the Molasses it just aids the micro-bacteria in the soil to make nutrients available to the plant in forms which are easier to absorb.
