Flushing dwc????????

I flush inbetween stages and never at the end, my patients say they never had anything smoother or full flavored.

I flush first time right before first week of flower (I use DWC buckets). For 24 hours the bucket has only clearex and ph water before the first week of flower.
Then three weeks no change.
**24 hr flush**
Another three weeks
**24 hr flush**
Run it out till harvest.

Each stage is another soup recipe from DynaGrow and a stage in flowering.

** Search the site this question has been asked bajillion times. Each and everyone has their own oppion I am on the side that flushing at end has no noticable effect on my end product except if I don't feed and flush they do not reach their maximum ripeness and size not much but they do end up a bit bigger and just a better smoke when I don't flush at end. You need to do what works for you, as many see my way of not flushing as blasphemy. My patients never once said "damn didn't you flush these"? Instead, its more like shock and disbelief that medicine is this good.

ForgetIwashere: I think that depends a lot on who you ask. I've been taking some hydro classes for the last year and one instructor says yes, one is hot on the idea and one is so so and only recommends it if there's a problem. I think it has a lot to do with what nutes you're using and what you're growing in. They claim there's a build up of salts in rock wool that requires regular flushing but I use Root Shooters to start my seeds and then transplant the seedlings into Hydroton net pots. I feed them Technaflora's, "Recipe for Success," exclusively and I grow in ten gallon bubble tubs. I change my nutes every week to ten days and I don't flush until pre-harvest. I guess I've been lucky up to now, but so far so good. If I see a problem I wouldn't hesitate to put them on a low calorie diet of pH balanced water for a few days to clean them out and then change their nutes. I hope that helps. HSA

yeah i was just saying what i do. whenever i do a nute change (usually once a week) i just flush with florakleen and h2o2 for an hr or 2. just helps keep everything nice and clean. i just think of it this way. it cant hurt to keep everything clean, its not like im starving the plants or anything.

i monitor my ppm's through my whole grow and only feed exactly what the plant wants at any given time. when u listen to your plants you will find they actually only take up very low levels of nutes in the later stages of flower anyway so a flush isnt necessary unless you do as the nute companies tell you and run high ppms right to the end.

I dont flush DWC. Flushing is to use up the rest of the salts in the medium and plant matter. IMO the nutes are so readily available in hydro that there is not much storage or buildup. In fact, I only change my res twice per grow. Once going into flowering and once after 4 weeks of flowering.

thats whats up. Do you just top up with water and ph your res? Or add nutes when you add water?
