Flowering plants are looking pretty haggard

I have 2 plants in flowering right now. They both looked pretty good when I put them in. There was some stretching during veg so they weren't that bushy but they were nice and green and there were plenty of bud sites.

Now, about a month and a half later, they are really straggly. A good portion of the leaves have dried up and fallen off, usually at the bottom of the plant but lately it's going further and further up. Now they are pretty bare except for the buds.

One of the plants is sat. dom and the other is indica dom. The indica dom. one should've taken less time to flower but it seems like it's taking longer. The main cola of the sativa looks great. It's getting really full and the hairs are starting to change color but then the rest of the plant looks like it did about a month ago. Just white hairs and no buds. The same with the indica, the top isn't as nice though and it's bending over so it's pointing down almost.

This is my first grow so I didn't really expect too much because I didn't have an ideal setup. In the flowering room I'm using a 150w hps. The plants are in Miracle grow soil (I know it's not the best but it was cheaper than having the expensive stuff shipped to my house since that's all you can find here) I have not given them any plant food because I was afraid to since I've heard bad things about MG with nute burn and such. Now I'm worried that I may be starving them. They've been in that soil roughly 7 months now so I'm sure the nutes are all gone now. The only plant food I have is MG (just regular plant food) should I go ahead and give the flowering plants some food?

I know this was a big post but I can't take any pics right now because the plants are in the dark so I wanted to be as specific as possible. Thanks.

A Photo would be nice. I am a b ig hater of MG nuts. But if that is all you can get, then give them about 25% of what is suggested. If the plant handles that n icely, then bump up the amount the next feeding by about an additional 10% of the amount you had fed the first time. So if you are feeding 10 ML per gallon, give them 11 ML per gallon. Continue to do this over time to find out where your plant just starts to get a little burn on the tips. Then back off 10% from that and walla, you now have the max amount of nuts to feed that certain strain. If you change strains, I suggest to do this same thing again for that new strain.
