A makeshift greenhouse would do nice, just a work shed with a semi-permeable roof to allow sunlight to shine through. Otherwise just use a black netting, measure the amount of sunlight that area is getting and adjust it manually by blocking the sun with the net until the plant is hitting 12/12. Hard work, its good to live near the plant, but it pays when u can bud ur plant b4 frost hits.

and when do i start to control the sunlight they have been outside for about 2-2 1/2 months as we speak with just letting it grow and watering it when it is needed......? they have white pistils on the nodes or whatever there called in the corner of the branch..... looks like it just started to flower or at least begin that stage...

You can bud a plant at any time, it depends on the strain however when the plant will naturally bud, but if you know the weather in your area is going to be poor soon then start budding them now. I usually wait until they're about 4' tall, bushy, and perky before I put them in the 12/12 cycle. In order to do this though they must have already been in a 14+ light hour schedule.

well i live in the nothern part of the united states and the sun usually goes down around 9-9:30 ish and comes up anywhere from 5:30 to 6:30 ish somehwere in between there. and if that ios true then they would be getting 15 hours of light and 9 hours off...... and have been outside since about june.... they just started the flower stage i think where the white hairs protrude out of the node's on the inner branches. im going to be taking some pictures hopefully today so if you wouldnt mind i would love your input on what i should do or what i can do to help maintain a good yield our of these crops
