Flowering cycle light question

Hi folks
I'm using a long, thin loft space about 1m high by 1.5 across doing a vert style of thing. Most of the room is taken up by the 2x600w lights and the 9 flowering plants on12/12, they have only been on flower for 5 days. I've screened off the other end of it with black and white and have a cfl and two vegging mothers in there on 18/6. I just had a peep into the room to check, and there is definite glow visible coming from the veg area (flowers are asleep). There are no direct beams and it isn't lighting up the room or anything, but just having a little panic that light pollution might mess things up, just because there is more light than I would have expected. Does anyone have any experience of having separate areas in the same room? How uptight about this do I need to be?

If you can't for some reason completely block the glow by doubling your sheeting or filling the cracks, don't panic. I also use panda film for my winter indoor and if you don't seal the edges firmly it does leak a little. In nature if you go outside during a full moon there is plenty of ambient light and plants do just fine. I'm sure this will set off some debate from light purists so let me say in advance this is just my opinion based on several years of experience. I am not sure about light stress and herming (new word ), but I have only had one group of plants hermie and that was from bagseed so I believe it was genetic. There also doesn't seem to be any noticeable effect on yield or flowering time. Hope this helps, Larry

the darker the better, but you can go by no brighter than a full moon.
It takes "x" amount of Lumens to start photosynthesis, and activate the photoreceptors in the plant.
How many Lumens? I forgot, but you can find it out on google.

Yeah I think I will double up, but it's definitely darker than a full moon in the main bit of the room. This is my first grow in a looong time so I keep finding new things to worry about

time to get some duct tape.and some cardboard old boxes. go to town with that. seal it up dark. you don't want to chance herm

Science, Biology???? Stop you're killin' me

Actually yeah I just remembered that I have a couple of spare reflectors around so I will stand those around the CFL so that the black and white has less to do.
