Is it possible to flower your plant too long? Will there be a point where the buds simply will stop growing? Will flowering too long be bad for bud potency? :!:

How about if my top cola is ready. Can I cut the top cola & continue to let my bottom buds grow & be ready for harvest?

Yeah thanks. My top cola is pretty plumpd up but the bottom buds are like small. Not too small but they are on their way. I would hate to abandon them just because they aren't ready.

im doing the same thing right now. I had originally 10 plants and I have pulled 3 a week for the last 2 weeks and now im doing the last 4 in a couple days. I started pulling at week 9/10 as that's when 50 percent of the trics were amber (i love couch lock stone) and now its end of week 11 and the buds on the last 4 plants are HUGE!

They easily have gained another 25% in size from the time left under lights.

i grow with 400 watts over head CFL, 2 4"4bulb T5 side panels and front CFL lighting in Clamp reflectors 250 watts for all surround lighting. I yielded average 15 grams per plant on the first 3 plants, averaged 19 grams from the second 3, and this round of 4 i expect about 3/4 oz per plant. I vegged 3 weeks from clones before flowering.

a staggered harvest is fine. Yes, you can flower too long, but its pretty hard to not realize when its done. if you were to flower too long your plant will start losing potency as your thc levels peak and then will start degrading in a bad way and your plant might start to grow bananas in an effort to pollinate itself in one last depserate shot at reproduction. i know of some pics that really illustrate how to tell when a bud is done. this is from fdd's harvest tutorial.
"we will start with ripeness. most people say to check your trichromes with 30X magnification. i have other ways. when buds are done they look "done". the appearance of the bud changes. the leaves start to hook upwards and become hard and crispy. the calyxes will swell and the hairs will turn brown. you can see a golden tinge to the bud leaves. this is the amber crystals. they start to turn amber on the leaves first.

not ready..........

ready.......

notice the difference? it's pretty easy to see once it occurs."
