Flower to see sex then veg some more?

Would it be alright to put my plants into flower, take out the males, then veg the females for longer? Or does this cause problems? Taking clones an putting them in 12/12 isn't really an option for me.

I am doing this exact thing right now. I bought some Bodhi Goji Og and vegged them out for 5 weeks and then flowered until sex was shown. Females were put back in veg and are getting ready to have their first cuttings taken soon. It is common for me to do this when cracking beans and keeping the original plant from seed as my momma instead of a cutting I take from it later. I dont run into problems doing this as long as you move them back into veg at first sign of sex. Best luck and good growing.

plants will still sex themselves even under 24 hours of light, so there really is no need to put them into flower mode to sex them than switch them back to veg..
ime, plants will show sex at about 6 weeks or so from seed, regardless of light regimen.

I would worry about causing hermaphrodites. You know you say clones but you don't need to wait for them to root. Just clip off a branch put it in some soil or just water and put it under 12 that will give you the info then just throw the clipping away.

This is right. My plants begin to show sex on their own right about the same time they start alternating leaves instead of putting out 2 leaves at a time on the same level. Although I only run mine under 18/6. From what Ed Rosenthal wrote he didn't see any advantage between 18/6 to 24/0.

i do 18/ 6 too.. i once read i think it was jorge cervente's say that plants grown under 24 hours of light would grow 33% faster then plants grown under 18 hours of light, so naturally i jumped all over it and switched my setup..
ime, the plants seemed to grow slightly slowly when not given any dark period and definitely no where near 33% faster like what was suggested.. back to 18 / 6 i went and haven't looked back.. :D

I know plants show sex anyways, but mine have been growing for 5-6 weeks and only one is showing signs of preflowers. The others arent even hinting at showing sex. Could this be due to supper cropping. I supper crop on average every 5 days
