Flooring

I'm building my room but was wondering about flooring. I'm covering the walls with Mylar and I've read where people paint the floor a flat white.

Would it be just as good to use a white linoleum on the floor. I would think it would reflect the little bit of light that gets that low and it would be easier to clean up than a painted floor.

I think a plain white floor would work nicely as well, should help you get the last bit of light absorbed by the plants especially if you can't get super expensive lights and want that extra kick.

I saw in a video this grower put Polystyrene plates on his floor so the temperature of the floor wont effect the plants.

Plus it makes it nice and neat :)

Having a white floor is going to increase your light usage by just about nothing. Plants don't really absorb light from the underside, and by the time the light hits the floor and bounces back up to the height of a plant just about all useful light will be gone. If you are working with a cement floor, like in a basement, it is recommended to get something down to keep the roots from the cold floor, I like to use soda crates, because they are easy to move around and clean. To each their own though, good luck however you choose to go.

I posted about the panda film because it's easy to clean, and spills can be wiped up easy.

Plus it makes the grow room look nicer ;)

IMO. :D

I got inspired by this video and happened to find a bunch of panels that someone was using to build their house, snagged one for my grow floor and cut it to size. Perfect!

That's some good info!!! I would guess it doesn't matter what color I have the floor then for the most part. I'm building now and will use OSB for the flooring and even if that is painted it still catches dirt so I was thinking linoleum. Either way the point is... light or dark won't affect the plant.

Thanks
