First timer need help and info please

Hey guys Im just away to get everything started from my first grow and i got a couple of questions i wanna ask befor i go out and start buying the wrong or not enough stuff.

I was wondering if a 250w CFL would be ok for keeping 2 mother plants and growing some clones as well. I've got a small floro that im gonna put just above the prop tank where the clones are gonna start off and as soon as there strong enough i can raise them up a bit more to the CFL but is that 250w and the small floro enough for the 2 mothers and say 4-6 clones?
Thats the plan for the veg room.

The flowering room is just gonna be a grow tent with a 400w HPS for the 4-6 clones at a time, That should be fine shouldn't it?

that sounds fine mate.. i got 3 girls vegging under a 300w cfl, they love it.(maybe too much-ie always massive when i pit them to flower), i got a 600w hps and 300w red cfl for flowering, good luck and welcome to RIU.

Hey Elenor thanks for getting back to me I am gonna get more lights this is just to get things started
Was thinking about getting another 150W CFL for the clones to nice and strong and a 250W CFL for the flowering

Also was gonna ask whats the best 400w HPS to get? and are they all duel spectrum? would a 400W duel spec HPS be ok for 6 plants or am i best sticking to 4?

Depends on how big you are gonna let them get. What size pot are you going to grow them in.?I have a 125 watt cfl that I use religiously for my seedlings. But putting 2 mother plants AND 4 clones.... I dunno about that. Ifthey are small I guess. Just remember the light from cfls decreases substantially the further away the light is. And the footprint of the 250 and 125 lights are gonna be but so big.

Hey Tharoomman so the 250w cfl and the one foot floro wont be enough for the 2 mothers and 4 babys? The mothers ill be in big pots but the babys ill be in smallish pots till they go into the flowering. Im gonna have the clones/babys raised and lower them a bit at a time.

What about the hps?Whats the best 400w hps to get? and is a 400 ok for 6 plants or am i best sticking with 4?

Was talking to a friend and he pointed out i dont really need mothers. I can just take clones from the plants befor they go into the flowering tent, does anyone do it this way? Is it ok to do it this way? Another o my m8s was saying that it wouldn't be good to keep taking clones o clones but im not sure.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
