First timer...buying products in the UK?

Hi all,

Been lurking in the background for a while...checking out all the forums...so finally got posting

I live in the uk, but i am worried about purchasing these systems over the internet...part of me says its fine...the paraniod side said "dont do it...what about customs. Any thoughts on this?

The systems i am considering are:

Medium Stealth Dual Growing Cab @ Homegrown Hydro

Looks ideal...i read on the forum somebody ordered one, but it came damaged...other than that the user was very happy with the end product and results of the grow cab.

Portable Two Stage 1000w HPS, Aeroponic Grow Cart, w/ Privacy Tent Amzon

Again, looks ideal.

I know you guys keep going on about "build your own system"...i did try and build a shopping list like of like with the indoor stealth systems...but didnt get very far. Not too sure which Aeroponic system to go for...like the idea of everything being setup and ready to - key turn systems sound excellent.

Im sold on the Aeropnics systems, money isnt really a problem...but living in a flat could be - so also liking the idea of the carbon scrubber/filters. I imagine even tho it will work...it wont get rid of all the smell. Did anybody use the "Easy to Build DIY Carbon Filter" in the 101 questions post? How good are they?

Seed wise, again im just going with what i have read on various forums...one of the following plants:
100% Feminized Seeds
Pure Power Plant
Mazar
Northen Lights #5
Just a female seed, which will grow short and bushy

What do you guys suggest...any advice tips would be great!

forget about that shit, don't waste your money on them.


get 1x2" battens at your local building supply shop, pond foil, b/w one, plywood to build a concealing wall, cfls (to start with/vegging), venting stuff, paint for the room to touch up so no one will find the wall, and a few more little things and you are all set to grow in your own new room. will cost your less if not even only a 1/3 you would pay for this shit you want to buy and is way better.

for 1000 bucks i build a giant monster of a grow room. i put about 100bucks in my grow room without the hps sys and it it is bigger and better than this shit ever could get!

that is just a giant rip off of the lazy newbies how know shit about growing!

since you are in the uk, get seeds from nirvana http://nirvana-shop.com/, they are cheap and damn good, or at rhino from uk, bit more expansive but more variety Cannabis Seeds.
for starting i would go with Northern Light#1, Big Bud, or Skunk#1, all easy to grow for noobs. don't start on fancy strains and fuck up then since you too inexperienced to handle them well.
don't waste you money on feminized seeds, rather by for the money 3 times the seeds and clone your female plants! it is easy to do

that carbon filter set up you were lookin at is not to bad but also not the best since it goes only half the way.
a better home made one would be if you use rabbit mash wire, put over that a nylon pantie, old on from our girl for example, made a second on just like the first just a bit larger in diameter and fill the room in between with lose active carbon. that will reduce the smell to up to 80% if humidity doesn't get excessive, so over 60%. this would kill every carbon filter sys. they have to stay dry to do the job!

and for the air-cooled light sys you found there, those systems are great but the pricing of that shop is rape! look if you can find a cheaper shop then this, seen those lights for the same price and less in dollars! so you should buy at this shop.
