You can use flourecent lights. They come in different spectrums so you want to use the correct spectrum for the different grow cycles. Use a daylight bulbs for the veg cycle and warm spectrum bulbs for the flowering cycle. The rule of thumb is to have 50 actual watts per square ft but 75+ watts is preferred. You will want to keep the lights within 2 inches of the plants. A great way to determine if your plants are too close to the light is to put your hand under the light at the same level as the plants, if its too hot for your hand then its too hot for your plants. If your light is too far away you will experience a lot of stretching, which you don't want if your working with a small space. Also the lumen levels decrease dramatically the farther the plants are away from the light so keep them as close as you can without burning them. A small circulation fan will help with heat buildup and it also simulates wind which strenthens the plant's stem. I've ordered seeds from Nirvana and received them within 2 weeks after placing the order, very stealthy packaging and highly recommended. I recommend doing a Google search on how to grow MJ. You will be amazed at all of the info available. There is also a wealth of knowlegde on this website, just do a little digging. Attached is a pic of my grow. I'm using 125 Watt CFL (flourecent) in my clone room and also in my veg room. I had to temporarily house the clones inside due to the boiling hot summer temps. I'm using a 400 watt HPS in the flower room. the cabinet is set up with intake and exhaust fans. the exhaust air is run through a carbon scrubber prior to existing the cabinet to prevent / reduce odor.
