First time grow - pictures, will update, suggestions please! closet trash can

Hi!

Growing for the first time.. or atleast growing in a semi-legit way. I am looking to update this thread throughout the whole process, and would love criticism and suggestions.

Currently, my setup is as the pictures look. The lights are

The soil is scotts garden soil and moisture control miracle grow potting soil. I have 6 plants that have just been put in the solo cups with a hole in the bottom of each. I will be taking 2 and putting them in a bigger pot and then taking the best one from those two and put it into one larger pot and only have one in that trash can. I have ordered some things and they should be here within a week. I plan to have that lid closed and have a ventilation system instead of the large fan that you currently see. It is only open until I get my supplies.

I am using just bagseeds that I have saved over the years... I am not sure what kind they will be. A lot of them came from mid grade but I know I have put good ones in to the mix so I am not sure at all what I will get. Please critique and suggest!!!!!

I plan to use the fan on top and a hole at bottom to get air flow.

this will help with cooling

I will mix this in when I get it

will use this for setting a schedule up.. any suggestions?

I will be taking off those metal around the lights and using these and using all 4 of the lights I bought instead of just the two I have right now


I plan on getting the best yield possible. I also want to grow this fast, short, and plump. All suggestions would be great!!!!! I will be updating the entire time.

Thanks man! I have done really silly things in the past when I have "attempted" to grow but I was younger and it wasn't "serious." I really am trying to make this one work. Along with my trip to home depot and the online order I just purchased I have spent $160. Other than that I have spent hours looking at the forums and years getting seeds... not that that was hard .lol... that was the fun part!!!

I have heard something in the past 3 days that I did not know. You can take a mid-grade seed, and make it into a headie plant by growing it the correct way. I can't believe I have never heard that in my life. What do you mean T@ll? Is there something that can go wrong with me set up?

Also, I think I am going to grab a 6500k bulb for vegetation purposes. Suggestions? I have read that you can use both 6500k and 2700k at the same time and just take away the 6500k bulb when flowering. Should I use all 4 2700k cfls, and one 6500k bulb? Two 2700k on both side and one 6500k on top?

Added 4 more. Did not want to waste the ones that germ'd.

This is what I got to see when I woke up ! Some of them sprouted. I hope they look healthy. I am not exactly sure how much I should be watering I also moved some cups around and moved the lights as you can see in the pic just until my supplies get here this week.

85 Watt Fluorescent Full Spectrum Bulb

I ordered one of these and another clamp to use during the vegetation period!!! Should be here about the same time as everything else I ordered!!!

Also, I filled up the cups and made it so the roots have more room to expand... The roots really did grow a lot for such a short time. I lowered them into the trash can and took off the reflective shield so I could use the 2 cfls as best I can, and as close as possible, until I get the other bulbs. The 3 speed fan is mounted as so and is set on speed 2.

I have them on a 24 hours schedule. I get my timer and and fan tomorrow I think. Would it be wise to have a 18/6 or 20/4 schedule. Also, since I am changing its schedule will it have a negative effect?

Seriously... that is pretty bad ass! I'm really digging the trash can set up. You might want to look into lsting your plant when the time comes. Again that's bad ass.

Thanks, Soon I will have AN Big Bud.. please no one say anything about money and blah blah over priced. This is what I decided to get regardless of any other thoughts. I read both negative and positive before making my decision. I just don't care. I also got a ph kit on the way for water, and temperature/humidity reader. I will most likely have the xbox vision thing on the temperature/humidity monitor and some close girls. I can look at it while I am on my computer. I also have two 2700k lights.. should I add them? That one 85 watt Fluorescent puts off a little more heat but I think it is just bigger (11" X 4"), so I have it a little higher. Is this a CFL or just a florescent? Oh and root hormone on the way??? mad scientist experiment? ? yes.

I got the ph kit and big bud AN today. added 2 26w 6500k cfls... Now I got a a bit of a variety just like nature... I feel like I just created a ecosystem I added bb and ph'd water after these pics were taken... we'll see how that works... I used very little bb.. like REALLY little. I will up the dosage when flowering. Should get my temp and humidity monitor today.. and then only one last thing to do and that is vent the bottom hole... that will make it light proof and keep odor away when flowering.. I will be carbon filtering somehow. working on my options and looking at whats available now. Once the temp and humid monitor comes I will set camera on that so I dont have to open plastic.. I can look on my computer. Im curious as to what the temp in there is

nice man im doing my first grow right now to. got 2 short rider auto fem autoflowering and 1 northern lights. i need to get more lights in there tho. where can i find one of those splitters for the lights?

MY temps around 87-89 and humidity around 26-28? comments?

I want to be able to run my 85 w 5500k flourescent and the two 26 wat 6500k and the two 27 wat 5000ks and have the lid shut. ... all the while keepin temps around 76F and humidity 45 percent.. Anyone have any ideas if you look at previous posts you will know the details to answer... hopefully

Temp right now is 71 F at night and 41 humidity ..... earlier I had the inside at 78 F and 45ish humidity. Can't use the big light tho.. still experimenting with the lights.


Are these white spots normal??
