Purple Wheelchair –
Im an insomniac and use for medicinal purposes.
A friend of mine gave me 3 plants, 1 was a mother plant and the other 2 were clones of what he told me is called a PURPLE WHEELCHAIR Strain that is very hard to find around and very potent for insomniacs. Tried searching on the internet and i barely found any info on that strain, so i took his word for it. I would really appreciate it if anyone can help provide any info about it.
The plants were given to me in 3 litre pots and each plant was about 6 inches tall. This is my first grow so i started searching on the internet and got a basic idea of what i need.
Equipment :
With each fertilizer used i put the recommended dosage as shown on the pack, not the dosage i used for my plant.
The dosage i used is shown later on while explaining the vegetative and flowering stages.
Root Blast : 2-1-2 derived from Calcium Nitrate, Super Phosphate and Sulphate of Potash Magnesia.
6 inches or smaller pot, 1 tsp. For bigger pots add another ½ tsp per 2 inches.
Potato Food : 4-6-6 + Calcium and Magnesium.
250 grams per meter squared.
Reward Lawn Food : 12-3-6 with trace elements. Organic Fertilizer.
1 capful for every 5 litres of water. Every 2 to 3 weeks.
MiracleGro : 15-13.1-12.4 with trace elements.
1 Scoop for every 8 litres of water. Every 1 to 2 Weeks.
Jobes Tomato Fertilizer Spikes : 6-18-6
2 spikes per plant feeds for 8 Weeks.
Jobes Aquatic Plants Fertilizer Spikes : 8-24-8
1 spike per Gallon Pot every 4 weeks.
If temperature goes above 75 degrees use every 2 weeks.
Brigitta African Violet Food : 4-14-10 with trace elements.
1 tsp for every litre of water. Once every week.
BlackStrap Molasses.
HPS 400W 25” from top of Plant. SON-T-AGRO Lamp, that seems to have more of the blue light.
Bright White Light : 4 bulbs, 6400 Kelvin bright Daylight and 23 w each.
Black Pot : 10 Litre Pot.
Purple Pot : 30 Litre Pot.
Soil : Yates General Purpose potting Mix.

Dehumidifier : Apple Mega-dri dehumidifier. Dont know what the humidity is. It has 2 buttons, one slow and the other fast. I just use them and when the tank is full i throw the water away.
Fans : 2 small fans placed at bottom of plant blowing air towards bottom of stem.
1 Large Fan Outside grow closet with closet door open a bit to allow air from the big fan to hit the plant from the middle of the stem to the top.
Large extraction Fan cut into closet door at a height below the HPS and higher than the plant top. Connected to the extraction fan is a Huge Home Made Carbon Filter.
Temperature : 95 degrees during the day and down to 85 degrees during the night.
Grow Closet : 3 feet wide, 5.5 feet high and 2 feet deep.
Walls covered with foil. Closet door open slightly to decrease temperature, but the room that closet is in is always locked to keep it controlled. Dehumidifier placed in the room outside of the closet next to large fan.
Vegetative stage :
I set everything up and for the first week i was just using water, watering whenever the top soil is dry.
Then i decided to move them to bigger pots. 10 Litre Black Pots. For each pot I mixed Yates potting mix with 3 tsp of root blast and 300 grams of potato food to make sure enough calcium and magnesium are available. Placed the mix in the pot and moved the plants into the new pots.
I gave back the 2 clones to my friend and kept the mother plant for myself.
The mother plant was placed in the closet under HPS 400 W and 4 Bright Daylight Bulbs. All lighting on 24/7 and Co2 burner at the bottom.
Food used was a mixture of Miraclegro (¾ scoop), Reward Lawn Food (1 Capful) and 5 Litres of Water. I would feed it every other day when the top soil is dry. Kept going like this till the plant reached 17.5 inches and started covering all the pot. I then moved it into a 30 Litre Purple Pot, adding more potting mix, rootblast and potato food. All mixed consistently before transplanting. I kept it in vegetative stage for another 2 days so the plant adapts to its new pot.
Flowering Stage :
At around 18” i started the flowering stage by removing the Bright Daylight bulbs and cutting back the HPS to 12/12.
Started feeding it brigitta African violet. (10 tsp of it mixed with 5 litres of water)
After 16 days the plant reached 39” high and 25” wide, stopped growing and white hairs started increasing all over it with Fan leaves starting to yellow out and fall off. Stopped using CO2 from this point.
After 4 weeks of the flowering stage i had reached 15 tsp African Violet Food mixed with 5 litres of water, I thought it would take about 2 more weeks for it to be ready for harvest so i stopped using fertilizer and started flushing it with water and molasses. Started with 1 tblsp molasses for every 5 litres of water left out for 24 hours before flushing the plant. After 2 weeks (Week 6 of Flowering Stage) the plant still had all white hairs and not ready . Only Small buds. Trichomes are plenty but till this point NO SMELL.
I then decided to go back to fertilizing it. I was out of African Violet food so decided to use Jobes Tomato Spikes. I placed 4 in the pot and kept watering it with molasses. After a week (Week 7 of Flowering Stage) i only found 1 spike left. I took it out threw it away and used 3 Jobes Aquatic Plant Spikes and kept watering with molasses. After about another week (Week 8 of Flowering Stage) i only found one of the spikes so i threw it out and decided to get back to using African Violet Food.
From the beginning of week 8 i stopped using molasses. Just using African Violet Food 25 tsp mixed with 5 litres of water for every feed. Buds started increasing in size and some of the white pistils started turning brown and a couple of them have gone dark red.
In mid of the 8th week of flowering i changed the light hours to 11 light/13 dark and increased the dehumidifier speed to lower the humidity even more.
I am currently at the end of week 8 of the flowering stage. In the mid of week 9 of the flowering stage i will be reducing the light to 10 light/14 dark, stop using fertilizer and back to flushing it with water and molasses.
I have added some pics over the whole progress till now currently at end of week 8 of the flowering stage.
Can anyone tell me if the plant looks healthy? If not what do you think is wrong ? Till this point i can barely smell the plant unless i get my head too close in it and start sniffing over it. It seems like there is NO SMELL at all.
and how much longer before it is ready for harvest ?
