FIRST TIME GROW!! Advice and help needed!!

Just recently obtained medical card and looking to start up 12 very soon, but before i buy anything i would like to hear pros and cons of things you have experienenced or any helpful tips on room design to soil medium to hoods. Any help and/or advice will be greatly appreciated. Also chooseing a strain and pros cons with auto flower... THANKS all my fellow smokers!!! SHAY

I am a beginner also, but from what I have learned:
Don't mess with hydro until you are familiar with the whole growing process and able to read what your plants need, start with a soil grow.
Use good soil (Fox Farm Ocean Forest?) I used some Orchard Supply Hardware Premium and am having problems with fungus gnats, although I have used it before with no probs, so may not be OSH's fault. Use something good and mix it with perlite to increase airation/drainage to promote good root health. More roots = More fruits. Your plants' health above ground is only a reflection of what is going on with your roots / soil , don't neglect them.

your right on that one i wouldnt go with hydro untill you know a lot about hydro... if you are a bigginner stay with soil its way easier.. i been doin it for years and still grow in soil i like to fo it way more than hydro..... as for soil fox farm stuff id really good but if you are using fax farm soil i recommend useing all the fox farm nutes as well.... i personally use SUNSHINE MIX #4 for my soil, it has a 0-0-0 mixture so you can control what nute go into the soil and contol your PH level easier i find with a nothing mix like that anything else you want help with just ask and im sure someone on this site will give an efoort to help you out man

Ya def going with soil got couple outside with various types and mixes for experamental purposes... one mierical grow organic and mierical grow (excuse the spelling) avadvance potting soil with an added mix of organic bone meal and blood meal along with osmocote slow release plant food mixed in every hole due to the fact cant see them all that often... i actually looked for the sunshine #4 with no avail only onlline and u can imagine home much a heavy ass bag of medium cost to ship!!! thank you sparkabowl and werry420 for your insight
