First time Ever Grow Hydro

What is the space around your closet? Anything you may be able to drill into? I can't tell if that lamp has a set of exhaust vents. If it does I would try to utilize that in any way possible. Stable temp is so important. My first grow nearly went down the shitter because of temperature issues. Whats your max and min. What are you gonna use for smell? Cause, this may be too early of a large idea given the info provided but... I'd drop a carbon filter in that corner, small 4'' inline fan, nothing too crazy. 120-160 cubic feet per minute will regulate that scent and keep the temps stable as hell...once again if that HID is ventable. Also maybe it's good to have a fan blowing down at the plants or really just at the plants in general for some wind resistance. Frustrating as balls if they get to heavy to stand on their own. Sorry if any of this was too much. Hope it helps. I literally just fixed up my exhaust system for the last three hours. Flush once a week IMO, bacteria and nasty shit can build up, you can even see it if you wait long enough.

The only thing I could drill is the door, maybe put some holes at the top close to where the fan is. My temp is pretty stable now with the cooler temps out side, now it is 76/64. Res is around 65 with lights on. I'm not to concerned about the smell cause the house is empty. Maybe when I start to grow a better seed I will focus on the smell. My MH light doesn't have any vents. Thanks Bayou for your time.!!

Plants are slowly chugging along. The roots look almost clear and they are out every where on all plants. Can seem to get them really green, but maybe they just don't get real green. I guess I will get the handle on that when I use good seeds on my next grow. Let me know what you guys think so far. I see my mistakes in the first week of spraying my leaves with the lights on, that will never happen again. I would like to make all my mistakes on this grow because next grow I will be messing up good seeds.:fire: Will try and take better pixs.

They look pretty good for ur first go round. I started with a similar setup except I used a tray and rw cubes 4 & 6 inch guh, never again. Now using pots with hydroton & mini rockwool much much better. Some strains just won't get real dark green idk what it is, they just refuse to take up as much nitrogen. So as long as they continue to grow well I wouldn't worry about that at all. Move up to 1/2 strength nutes in a week or so, but looks like 1/4 is serving them well right now. anyhow I'll be tuned and drop a tip when I can to a fellow first timer, good luck.

Thanks guys for all the info and tips. My temp flux between 85 with the lights on down to 60 when lights are off and pretty cold out side. Will post pixs in 2 days.

Add co2 or drop your temps 5 degrees for optimal growth. 85 is a little warm, but with CO2 you'd be golden. Kind pricey tho, 150 for a 20lb tank (20 for refils) and 150 for a regulator. A exhaust fan might be a cheaper solution lol

I do have a question for you guys. If you have one area to veg and flower in how do you get clones and keep them going until the end of harvest to put them in the system? Would like to know if I need 2 separate rooms to do something like this?

Yes. Not exactly 2 seperate rooms, but 2 seperate areas for light cycles. you need a 12/12 area(s) and a 18/6 area (some choose 24/0 or between).

So the best bet for a single room is to run autoflower seeds and start germing them last couple of weeks of flowering in the system? Does autoflowers produce pretty good on 12/12 the hole time? Thanks again for your time.

It's pretty much vital to have a veg area if you want to do perpetual growing. Autos are a waste of time imo, low yield, low thc, fun for a side project but u can't clone them so ur stuck ordering tons of seeds. Could you keep a single plant somewhere and then take clones to put in your flowering area? If you absoltly can't have more then 1 space your stuck with fem seeds and changing your light cycle. Start 18/6 to veg, flower 12/12 then go back to 18/6, plant seeds, veg and repeat.

Wapow, thanks for stopping by. What is your temp in your res? What are your ppms at? Post some pixs and you will get some answers.

Thanks Someguy, I guess when I start growing good seeds and have a big pretty female I could put it in soil and make a mothers box. How much quicker is cloning then start from seed?

About 2-3 weeks. I would make a mothers box, and then take clones 2-3 weeks before harvest. Then move ur new babies in, veg them a little longer if needed and then flip them to 12/12.
