how about if i upgraded to a 42w cfl?sarcasm? i hope not...there is more than enough information on this website for you to have found that answer. you should read threads. read grow journals with similar set ups as your's.
but yea, one CFL ain't gonna get it...not even close
still not enough light city...how about if i upgraded to a 42w cfl?
how can i find out what spectrum my light is? it doesnt say on the package
i went to home depot and bought 2 27w cfl at 1400 lumens each and i put those on my plants (i started another one). im gonna buy a 42w bulb when i can find one.still not enough light city...
a 42wCFL only puts out about 2600 lumens on its own. the more lumens, the better...as long as your temperatures aren't being affected too much by radiant heat.
u said you're only growing one plant...well i'd say go with at least 4, maybe 5 of those buggers. go to a good sized hardware store, LOWES or HD, and read the back of the packages about luminosity and spectrums of light for each bulb.
when vegging, u want a more BLUE spectrum light, still lots of it, in the higher frequency range (4000-6000). to flower, switch over to a lower frequency bulb (you still want to at least maintain the same amount of LUMENS, so don't use less light) in the 2000 range.

sorry dude, you're not getting it. you need way more light than that. just go get 4 x 42w and be ready to add more as your plants grow.i went to home depot and bought 2 27w cfl at 1400 lumens each and i put those on my plants (i started another one). im gonna buy a 42w bulb when i can find one.
