Hi everyone. I wanted to let you all into my first ever "real" indoor grow.
everything in this grow has been real shoe string and is more of an experiment then an actual finilized setup, so here it goes
I have built 2 boxes
-1st is 3 x 2 x 4 feet inside (this will be the veging /mom room) this one allready has 2 x 90mm computer fans one each for intake and exhaust (will probably add a second intake soon)
-2nd is 2 x 2 x 5.5 feet inside (this will be the flowering room) this one is just a box so far as im finishing it off while the others veg. and this is where I hope someone here can help
right now the 1st box has 6 da purps plants veging under 1 x 150watt hps, 4 x 25 watt cfl's 4500k, and 1 x 175 watt mh in a low stress training style ( I want my mother plant to be bushy I was told its easier to clone a bush) I know my light setup is kind of a hodge-podge of lights but hey it all cost well under $80 at a second hand shop. The ladies are comming along nicely and i love the low stress training what a different looking plant then my outdoor plants. Im growing all the ladies in the same soil mix which is organic certified pre mixed soil mixed 3 to one with sea soil and am using the 2 part organic iguana grow juice. anyway thats just a little background on where im at but i need help with where im going (man i ramble when im high)
THE FUTURE
as i said above i plan on using the 1st box to veg and since i found them for $7 with bulbs at my second hand store i will be using 2 of the 175 watt mh in this box for the mom and clones my ventilation will remain the same or i may add a second intake fan (right now 1 x 90mm intake 1 x 90mm exhaust) i have a small clip on oscolating fan in there to for circultion
now for the 2nd box, as soon as my local grow shop brings in some 400watt hps/mh kits i will be replacing all this lighting with one of those and giving the light fixture im making here to a friend who has no money and has a medical need for growing. however until the light comes in this is what i got i will be using the folowing to flower da purps
1 x 150watt hps
2 x 175watt mh
8 x 25watt 2700k cfls
im not sure if im going to end up keeping this 2nd box or giving to my friend however what im asking of you is the following
1) will that be enough light to flower say 4 plants is a 2 x 2 foot footprint
2) will i need more ventilation with all the above listed lights then with my 400 watt (my calculations say yes and quite a bit more)
3) how much ventilation will i need while running the above listed lights (my plans are 2 x 90mm intake and 1 x 90 mm exhaust right now)
420) if im runing multiple hid lights at different angles should i expect to see more even budding (in other words which is better running 2 x 200watt mh or to run 1 x 400 as an example
Im just learing all this lighting stuff for a second time I am very knowledged in high end reef lighting in saltwater aquariums but this is the first time im trying to apply that knowledge NOT through water (which just so were all on the same page is entirely different)
