First real grow

Ive done a few outdoor grows where i just plant a nd hope for an outcome but this time we decided to be semi legit with it.

600w hps/mh cooltube in a 4x4x6 box outside

earth juice organics full regimen

4 Auto aks, 1auto purple flower power, sharks breath, pineapple chunk, coletrain and a few bag piff seeds.

First issue we came into was heat (shedgrow) so we rigged up a modded stanley blower to cool the room down and exhaust a shit load of air on a budget.

second issue, a battle with bugs. our box isnt complete yet, no ceiling so bugs seem to be taking residence, its not major at the time but it will most likly be a prblem that we will fix.

A shot at one of the first grows that bitch was about 5ft when all done.

IM a bit concerned about light, im thinkin im a little under powered? a 600w for ~15 plants.

ok no ones really checking this out but ill update for the heck of it.
The ladies seem to be doing fine, a bit hot at times but its not too extreme. I am beginning to use full strength nutes on the bigger plants. Grow, catalyst, meta k, super strive, and few other organic based. Im liking the earth juice and i feel/hope that the plants will respond nicely to the organic lifestyle. The plants are all basically at the point where i should begin seeing some explosive growth (they seem to almost double every 2-3 in foliage at least). As of now im still on 20/4 hr light cycles the auto aks are responding awesome to the new soil and set up. most all construction is done and they are resting nicely.

Observations: some aks started out with 2 leaf blades, but are showing 5 blades now on upper nodes. Ive seen a bit of yellowing on some of the tips poss nute burns but idt so bc of the dilution ive been doing. The LST plant is doing awesome although it was started earlier. Coletrain isnt the hardiest of plants lacking in size greatly(maybe fed up a transplant up or something). 3 plants were topped and out the the 3, one took very nicely and the other two seemed to have halted growth for a bit but will hopefuly rebound. Bugs arent that big of an issue anymore as our bug attack worked out well. No more spider mites just a few scattered gnats. We are beginning to start a treatment of organic bug control to hopefuly deter these bugs. Ladybugs were a life saver deff recommend.

Questions if anyone is out there: Should i continue using the mh or should i switch to the hps? i know hps is mostly for flowering but i hear its also good for vegging too. Yellow tips any hints (pics)??

Overall i believe the operation is going well, all plants are nicely green, thick stems and sexy leaves. Please any comments would be greatly appreciated let me know how they look for a first semi legit grow ~400$ budget

Drooping plants in the pics have perked up fine i think i did a bit of over watering at one point. Def a significant growth in all plants. the aks are almost spanning the width of the pots now. All have been transplanted now if u see some still in cups in the pics. Im going to start to use a camera instead of my ipone for pics so the next batch will be up to date and good quality.

Im hoping this grow goes well as its my first, but being its my first real indoor grow i have some low expectations, but they are lookin sexi as hell at the moment. Sorry i cant get some pics up now but ill inform anyone out there that today flower power showed her autosexing, cute little hairs coming out of her. will update with massive a massive amount of pics of the developing sexy ladies. IM assing the aks will follw the path and show sex soon.

Current problem: Heat, these hot days are just roasting my shed setup in the backyard its hard to keep a good temp. looking into alternative ways of cooling any one with good ideas ill rep u hard. I need like a good 5degree drop

Can you show how you rigged your blower? I just got one and would like an idea of how to go about doing it. Nice job though!

hey man i personally am a big fan on graduating potters. i start out with a dixie cup and i wait till the plant is a good six inches and you can see the roots just poring out of the holes in the bottom before transplanting to a 2 gal or 3 gal. why? because having a good little root ball is great for popping into a larger potter, then it will just take off! drainage is always good for your roots so when there is just a tiny root mass its better to have drainage holes close in my opinion....

Idk how u legit people grow and keep it a secret. Im just bursting with excitement and my one partner is the only one who i can freely talk about it with and of course the people of riu. Taking time and care to make sure everything goes smoothly but man its just so much to try to keep down. Im just about to start to use a full strength nute reg on the ladies as they are growing ever so nicely (my bud said they were growing so nicely we should hold off on nutes and let em naurallyt do their thang, but i say nute he says not, what yall think????)

Flower power has just gained the best light spot as it already showing sex and prebudding, Auto aks are huge, in the pics they will be the ones that seem to be ~3-4 nodes and span the whole top of the pot. Sharks breath and coletrain are still way behind the others ony 2-3in and 3leaf sets. Cant say i know whats the deal with them freebes. Im keeping them till i flower and if they are too small still donate them to a friend bc ide like the extra room.
Bag piff seeds look amazing just as good if not better them the bought seeds

im going to rig an ac prb to help cool the shed down and have been using a bucket of ice as a ghetto remedy for now lol

All in all the grows going well, current stage: Veg growth, auto sexing, bugs under control, heat only bad on the days where its 90+. I tried to get a good shot of the blower and its hook up basically a rectangle ducking attachment that goes to a 6in tube, runs through my cool tube and exhausts out the back. The ducking piece was attached using that great stuff foam that plumbers/electricians use to seal up gaps, expanding foam. Let dry and al tape that and ur good to go.

Ok were prb a bit early right here but the time constraints are kicking in and if flowering of not done now then we wont finish on time. Popped in the hps and did a 16/8 cycle for 2days then going to 12/12 tm. hopefuly well be able to sex the men and girls soon this week and get rid of them be4 they are a problem. updates with pics coming soon. earth juice nutes seem to be working fine, no real problems yet. trying to keep ontop of the ph to decrease the poss of nute lock out and all that crap.

Here comes the pic update. Ladies seem to be doing quite nicely. all Ak growth is outstanding huge leaves and stretching out nicely. Big thick healthy stems on all plants. Growth of flowerpower is impressive good rep on this strain, shes branching out quite nicely as with all the ladies. Internodal branching has been observed on most all plants so flowering soon. Some are tiny and sharks breath seems to have not progressed in growth and has been out grown by coletrain who i brought back to life from a dead sprout. Pineapple chunk isnt growing too crazy but a nice dark green and real healthy looking(hoping she explodes in growth soon). We reuped on the ladybugs as they disappear, saw praying mantis eggs at the nursery also prb guna pick those up as a next line of soldiers in my budding garden. Switched to the hps bulb last day of 16 so i fig ide adjust them a day be4 the 12/12 switch. Im prb compromising yield on the aks bc they say more light the btter for autos but time will be a killer if we dont get this going now. Some of the best looking plants however are the bag seeds so were Praying hard that there are some females among them

think my hps bulb is lacking, every pic of ppls grows that i see that has a hps is really orange and bright it could jsut be that im using my iphone for these pics. its only a tiny bit burnt on the inside but well see

Looking good mate. Im 2 weeks into my first ever grow, got 3 auto-ak47's on the go. Some of your pics look very familiar The growth on em is just silly isnt it, fresh growth every time you look. Hoping for some definite signs of sex on mine in the next day or two - then on to bloom nutes

Great news sexed a few of the bag seeds today and about 3 of the 6 are females (most likely will keep a close check, one is the best looking plant in there.) 1 is most likely a male and two are unknown atm (LST plant is a slow shower). all the ak are plumping up and growing crazy. Flower power is rocking about 7 bud sites and is looking hella sexy. white hairs emerging from all the autos. Cole train, although weak is growing nicely, poss bigger then sharks breath soon. Pineapple chunk is looking nice as well. Been doing my nutes on these girls they dont seem to show any signs of burns. nice and green, little light green here and ther but nothing crazy. Seen some holes in the leaves most likely from a pesky bug, ladybugs are deff helping havent seen a spider mite since. just these annoying earwig like jumping bugs that seem to live in the soil and bottom of the pots guna start with a mild soap spray then move up from there. New pics are sure to come soon.

Ladies are doing great in my mind, lush and green. A little stretch but nothing that looks crazy. Chopped a male today and broke my heart. Two are unconfirmed. The nice LST plant was looking awesome, but unfortunately has nuts Transplanted one bag seed that was female into a bigger pot. All in all look healthy just a few bug bites but nothing crazy. Concerned about a poss hermie but ill have to get a better camera for that. Pineapple chunk looks amazing cant wait for that to nug up. 3 aks are huge massive bud sites. 2 aks are smaller but i think they will catch up with the other monsters. Flower power is doing nicely lots bud sites tons of hair already, great freebe in my mind. Cole train is putting along and will surpass sharks breath soon given coles shitty startup (May ditch shark to free up some space). Doing half nutes on on a few plants and full on the others, no crazy signs of nute burn from what i can see. Earth juice lineup seems to be doing its job. Rotating the set up every 4days or so. Possibly going to get a few more oscillators and mount them on the top facing downwards. Finally a picture update can deff notice a big change. I put in a top view from like 10days ago for a little comparison its 5th picture. Awesome optical illusion included as well as a dank blunt rolled on a fine ass Ill update soon

Ladies are still looking good. Losta budding on 3aks, 2not so much but deff development, pics soon. Massive amounts of bud sites on all, ~10 on one. flower power is trucking along with them as well just as big. Chopped another male and transplanted 2 female bagseeds (roots looked awesome, bone white and lotsa micro branching, so im hoping the others are similar, noticed a few earwigs in the soil i duno if they are bad but will try to rid them). Sharks breath is sooo weak deff fed up on this one or just a shitty genetics. Cole is looking better everyday and her yellowing seems to be correcting. One bagseed is the sexiest lady, 20budsites at 16in tall, looks like a Christmas tree perfectly symmetrical. Rotated them today and fresh watered a few (seem to be drinking more these days). Gave them some space and raised the light a hair. Added 8 cfls to the setup hopefully add a bit more side light for them, 6 red spectrum and 2 blue 100w equiv. Trying to plump up my bid production, any ideas??? all in all seems to be going good. ill pic update soon for the few if any who look at this
