Hi everyone i am new here and have been reading a lot over the past week about what i need for a set up and i have some stuff ordered to start growing with a dwc hydro system.
Im not a huge smoker or anything but i like projects and this seemed like a neat thing to do with my time.
Last week I picked up a GrowDen 4X4X6.6 grow tent. It seems awesome sturdy and only seems t leak light from one corner.
i also have two 8" 400 CMF inline fans to circulate air
I still need to get a carbon filter, im thinking that i may opt for a diy option.
I made my own light panels with Cree LED lights with 3 different types of leds on them
20 X CXA1512-0000-000N00M20E3 (cool white)
74 X XPEPHRL1000000801 (red)
25 X XPEBRY-L1-0000-00R01 (blue)
The latter two leds mounted on Bergquist Company 804091 thermal substrate
Mounted on T-Slot heat sinks from Heatsinkusa (8.46" X 24")
powered by 3 mean well HLG-120H-C350B power supplies these are constant current supplying .350 amps to the leds connected in series. the total power delivered by the lights is about 350 Watts.
I have a second heat sink, enough leds and power supplies to make a second identical board but soldering it all up takes forever hahaha.
dwc setup:
5 gallon bucket
Tetra 77848 whisper air pump
hydrofarm ASCL large aqua air stone cylinder
6" wide lip bucket basket (mesh potter should fit on 5 gallon bucket)
Hydroton Leca pebbles grow media (2 lb)
i have the GH ph control kit
also GH Flora Series QT kit
I have Bubblelicious Autoflower fem. seeds on order from Nirvana. i plan to start the seeds in rockwool plugs then transfer directly to the mesh pot in the dwc rig. I really dont know what kind of light schedule i plan to keep their seems to be no real consensus on whether 18/6 20/4 or 24/0 was the best for auto flowering strains.
To sum up:
Help with carbon filter options.
does my air circulation look ok
how awesome is my led set up? haha
does my dwc set up look ok? (probably my biggest concern i have grown other plants in soil before but never hydro)
What do people recommend as far as light timing for Bubblelicious Autoflower plants?
also i have almost no experience with managing plants like pruning so that the light i have is more effective or anything like that. So if anyone could point me towards any useful info on that kind of stuff i would be very grateful.
