It's October 10th...
I'm an almost complete newbie doing my first grow outdoors here in the UK. The girls are doing quite well, potted in soil. There are 4 underway and I guess the two tallest would be over 6 feet now. The strain is Purple Power which I started from seed indoors in May and transplanted outdoors on June 1st.
The vegging stage went really well with tons of healthy dark green growth. I've tried to keep the feed all organic with regular doses of Fish Mix and, since flowering, a combo of Fish Mix and Biobiz Bloom with an occasional molasses. I've now dropped the Fish Mix altogether for the final stages.
Noticed the first hairs on Sept 1st, so I guess they are about 40 days into bloom now (getting on for 6 weeks). The seed bank reckon on a flowering time of 8 to 9 weeks. I guess that's just a broad guide so I'm not holding my breath.
The buds are forming quite nicely and there are plenty to look at; many are starting to join up and form colas. But they are not very thick yet. There is some resin on the leaves - feel quite sticky. But they are some way off harvest.
There are two questions really:
First; I noticed a lot of yellowing of the fan leaves pretty much from the start of flowering. The smaller leaves around the buds all look pretty green and healthy but most of the larger leaves have lost a lot of colour with many lower shrivelling up and decaying. Normal?
Second question and perhaps the most pressing one:
If Cannabis plants don't like temps below 15C, how on earth are they going to finish on a latitude that's the same as Amsterdam? We're actually getting plenty of lovely weather for the time of year. It's unusually bright with lots of sunshine and it's been pretty dry too, but it's cool, and, looking at the forecast for the next couple of weeks, the daytime highs look like they might not get above 13 or 14C at best.
I have no idea how far from harvest they are as I've no previous experience; but I do what to look for. Been studying masses on here. Anyway, I'd hope they would get quite a bit fatter yet. I guess some pics would be helpful?
Broadly speaking, how late is it possible to harvest outdoors in the UK? And what about those temperatures? Does everything stop growing below 15C? Should I be worried at all? Anyone else at this stage in the UK?
Many thanks
