Awesome! I was having a really hard time getting the pics. I need to buy a scope that hooks into my phone. That was a phone clip microscope and it’s a bit janky. It’s surprisingly not bad with the couch lock. The munchies are the freakin worst though. Yeah we gave away most of our first couple harvests. This one we kept half for ourselves to get us through until the next. We only keep one at a time right now, maybe a clone going also. We’ve actually been having trouble keeping plant size down to fit more than one in the 2x4 tent. Our plants just want to be big and beautiful lol I guess that’s not a bad problem to have though. Soon, we’ll be upgrading everything though! This bud turned out kind of weird. It looks a bit purple but not anything super crazy. When it’s ground, it’s almost black and it’s soooo frosty. Smells like a tangerine with some mint. We ended up with 4oz from this harvest!
Something kind of odd did happen with this plant though, wonder if it’s normal. It’s the first cutting. Mother was grown from seed. The plant grown from seed had these massive, wide, fuzzy, obviously indica dominant leaves. This cutting/clone has the longer, skinnier, sativa leaves. Aren’t cuttings supposed to be exactly the same as the mother?
Good question i guess if its a hybrid could still get either? I cloned a jack herer and the buzz was completely differrent from original so that can deffinetly change.
Lol i know i used to do three then i was like wtf am i doing just covered in trichomes every bucket change and i get hives from the leaves and my eyes get very ichy so thats y i went to 2 monsters only haha.
Gotta fix it so you don't touch the plants then. I was not a fan of dwc cause it made it hard to clean the buckets if needed. So i changed to a flood drain style.
Can you post a pick of yoursetup i really want to change mine for that reason.
We keep trimming and training but we end up with massive plants every time. Not necessarily complaining as long as we still get good bud and lots of it lol
It’s a bit ghetto but I breed fish so we use a lot of aquarium supplies for our grow. We use something called a Python gravel vac. It hooks to your sink and you can either use it to start a siphon and drain the water to your sink or you can fill with it. We have the 50 foot because our tent is on the opposite end of the house from a water source.
Ok cool so how to you keep the roots from clogging the return hose? Also what if the pump fails do you run 2 pumps and how often does the pump run or is it constant?
Thats a good idea too but my grows in garage so nowhere to drain in winter is my prob and i dont grow in summer as its too hot in there have a 200k btu pool heater running.
Roots never make it anywhere near the drain. They do not do well when they grow outside the buckets.
Yeah it probably wouldn’t work for you then. I mean you could use an old school gravel vac that works on suction but they can be a pain. I know some people in the aquarium hobby use a garden hose and a utility pump for their water changes also. Could be a cheaper option and it’ll have more power than a python anyway
