First living soil grow

I'm very excited about this grow. I've had a handful of successful grows using bottled nutrients and soil, but I've researched and learned and gotten some help from KiS organics and put together a "living soil".

The seedlings did great. They've been in veg for a couple weeks and are getting transplanted to the 2x4 bed this weekend. They should've already been in there but I've been busy.

I germinated in the soil, for the first time. I usually use paper towels. What was crazy was in 3 days time they germinated and stretched 2-3 inches to the top on the baggie I had over the pots. I've never had a seed germinate that fast. I had to transplant and bury the stems bc they got so long.

Here's the progress so far. Feel free to comment or give advice.

Transplant went well. The roots looked good but I don't like when they wrap around this much. I cringe having to rip them. Then they're sad for 2 days. I used myco.

I do have a question or would like to get someone's opinion. Now that I'm in a 2x4 bed instead of pots I have to figure out how to tip them over. Or rather how to hold them down. If anyone's got any good ideas, lemme know.

This is my first time using blumats. I'm hopeful. I'm going to spray again with Mg sulfate tonight.

Looking good, man. Is the contraption in the corner your reservoir? I imagine because you are using living soil, that it's just plain water?
Dude I'm sorry. I don't know how I saw the post, and liked it, but didn't respond. Yes it is just plain water. I use rain water I collect from the gutters. I filter it with this.

It collects a lot of very tiny worms.

It's been a minute since I've updated.

Things are going well. I've not fed, but I've used microbial mass once and harpin protein once, in the past 2 weeks.

The blumats have finally come on and are irrigating well. The meter has been reading 122 for the past few days. I'm very excited about that bc I had been having issues with them. I purchased them from Kis organics and they helped with the set up and troubleshooting, and we got them going.

I switched to 12/12 last night. I bought the pvc I need to set up the trellis net. I'll do that this weekend. I'm not unhappy with how trainings going, but I do really wish i didn't plant the first plant in the middle of its spot. When i bent it down it was off center and it bothers me a little. Next run I'm going to top but just hold the branches down to break apical dominance and not bend it down.

Here's some pics

I haven't updated in a while. I haven't added anything to the soil, just rainwater and dehumidifier water through the blumats. I need to do a microbial mass and Harbin protein application soon.

I really slacked on the training. After the initial training I just let them go.

I built this tent and am kinda proud of it. So I was going to share it. I got the pvc for free. And used foam board for the walls. I need to cut vent holes. I was going to put them along the bottom. Maybe a foot up. Here's some pics.

I checked back and I must've forgot to make a note of when I planted them, but I know it was around the end of June or early July. They prob vegged for 6 weeks. Which was al little line than I had wanted. I'm still learning and getting used to good much more they grow after the flip. It continues to surprise me every time.

Thank you for your kind words.

Things seem to be going okay. The blumats are working and keeping things watered. I cut out the plant in the middle. I either vegged too long or a 2x4 bed isn't big enough for 3 plants. Next run I'm prob still gonna go for 3 plants but I'm veg less time. Also I'll focus more on training. These plants are going to be hard to deal with as they put in more weight. I'll extend the support bars all the way around soon.

They grew up into the lights. I couldn't do anything but break some branches to get them down. These plants are resilient. I've had to make more than a few splints for big breaks. Here's some pics. I'm pretty bad at taking them though.

Nice looking plants. You have probably already figured this out but when germination directly in the soil, if you're using a solo cup or whatever small container one can only fill it up halfway or two thirds then if you get that long ass stem you can just fill the cup up the rest of the way to support and the stem will obviously start growing roots as well. I think it's a good system anyway. I like to keep the plants as squat as possible starting out.

And I am super jelly of all that space you have in there. I might look to do something similar in my basement.

That's good advice. This is my first grow in this bigger tent. I'm loving the extra space. Having the dehu in the tent takes a lot of the moisture out of the air.

I haven't updated in a while. Things have gone well. I've not added really anything since flower. I prob should hit them with microbial mass soon. This other one looks like it's foxtailing. It could be the genetics, but they are hella close to the light. I can't get them any lower.
