Most people use clamp lamp fixtures. They're all of $6 at Walmart. Put 2x4 across your plants and clamp 'em on.

...look for a bathroom vanity fixture like this.

...adding Y splitters will allow you to double up on the bulbs, ...i like to use the 23 and 26 watt bulbs because they are cheap and easy to find and with 8 bulbs that means approx. 200watts per lightbar.

good luck, bozo

200 watts per bar  .... thought cfls were supposed to save money? i guess if you factor in a/c then it would be close.

i see 600watts on a few plants (beautiful by the way  ) you could do double the amount of girls under a 400watt bulb?

no disrespect AT ALL , just wonderin.

...CFLs are a good starting point for any new grower because you can get in so cheap, that 200watts i spoke of would only cost about $20.00 to set up, ...one of the advantages to CFLs is you can add watts as you can afford them.

...not everyone has the $200.00 to $300.00 to lay out all at once, i myself did not so i started out with CFLs and worked my way up to HPS using the money i no longer had to spend on bud to upgrade and buy proper equipment.

peace, bozo

I've purchased all my lights on Craigslist. 400w MH with ballast $50, 400w HPS with ballast $50, 4' four-bulb T5 $55, 2 easycool6 light fixtures and two light-movers $45, two grow cabinets $55 (lockers actually). You just have to remain diligent with checking every day for deals.

If you're going to be using splitters and rigging up your own light fixtures, just make sure you heed your wattage ... Know what your fixture is rated for and make sure your bulbs don't exceed that! It's a serious fire hazard to overload a fixture and stuff it in a closet.

That said, most fixtures designed for use with incandescent bulbs will be just fine to use as pictured above, and you can make some great fixtures for cheap, as posted above ... Just check the numbers when you do to make sure the fixture wiring can handle what you want to do.

I'm a fan of the clip lights mentioned above, they are versatile and very handy. Whether you plan to use them to grow or not, I would recommend buying at least one. Very handy.

Craigslist is great too, just be careful.

Lots of options!

Hey,, have you tried out through online?? If not try it on either eBay or from Amazon !
I'm sure you might be knowing these and I'm quiet confident there you'll definitely get these sort of things.

at home depot you get the clamp light setup, just don't use the reflector. that's exactly what you're looking for I think right? its just a socket attached to about 6 feet of cord directly to a plug.

you can grab the Y splitters there too, in the electric section, probably the same isle as the clamp lights.
