First grow

I am now currently into about week 4 of budding. It is looking very nice i have 1 sativa and 1 indica growing. I am only using 2 CFL lights. very crystally buds, and very stanky. The indica is almost 3 feet tall and the main cola is very dence. and VERY hairy, and the hairs are starting to turn brown, but the other buds going down towards the stem aren't. Can you harvest the main cola first, leaving the other buds to mature ? If so what is the proper way of cutting the bud ?..

And for the sativa it is only a small plant, about 1 1/2 foot ( Say what you want about it being ''too small'' but it is just for my personal use and it is just fine for me''. The buds are light green, not as hairy as the indica. The sativa smells tangy but it isn't very crystally (is that a word ?) yet.

Tho i am incountering some problems. For some reason the bottom leafs are dieing on both plants, and it seems to work its way up killing all leafs. First the tip of the leaves turn brown and dry out, than from there the leaf looses color and drys up. Why is this ? It seems to be somewhat under control now but i do not want it to happen again..

Crystally = resin

Sure....you can cut the top bud and leave the rest to grow, no problem. Proper way to cut it? Sharp, clean scissors will do just fine.

No worries on the leaves dying off...you're not vegging. My guess is you're not using any nitrogen in your nutrition formula. One of the 'mistakes' I see people make is switching to a Bloom formula soley. I recommend both veg/bloom formula all the way until about ten days to two weeks before harvest where you can go to a full bloom formula.

Plants still need nitrogen in flowering...just not as much.

The bottom line is, leaves die when they are not under the right conditions....temp, water, food, air, CO2, etc. In your case it's a nutrition issue.

Keep the bloom formula but add a bit on nitrogen and you should be ok.

If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to PM me. If not, have a Merry Christmas.

could be a nitrogen deficiancy, it is normal though for the bottom leaves to wilt up and die as flowering goes along no big deal, i would suggest adding some more lights though on the side, that would probably help speed up the flowering process for your other buds

Yes you can harvest the main cola and let the rest be. Cut it strait off like a brand new pencil top

Bending your stems helps keep lower leaves from dying off by getting light to them. I personally roid up my plants with N during veg so they have some stored up when they go to flowering. I also add N to my bloom nutes.
Your sativa will take up to 2 months longer to mature than your indica.
