Hey guys. So my dumb ass thought "oh its a weed it'll just grow" I couldn't be more wrong lmao. I started my seeds in a cold shed in april... didn't think anything of it. Brought them inside like almost a month later, with a light and they started growing somewhat normal, and now that the weather is nice for them, they're outside and growing fast. The amount of growth that they have is probably equal to about what 3 weeks should look like, even though they're 7 weeks. Anyway, they are now at about their 5th node. On Sunday of this week I repotted them in some FFOF and used some rain water to start them off. Checked PH and it is good right now. Will start my nutes on Sunday, a week after my repot. I'm considering this my first real week of veg (they're growing well now in their natural environment outside.

Anyway, I'm just wondering that since I stunted them and they're not that big, should I still FIM? Not counting the seed leaf node, they're all starting their 5th. I was thinking of fimming them on Sunday when I add the first nutrients. Here are photos of their size. Everywhere I look says start fimming at 4th or 5th node but they just seem so small, I don't wanna stunt them any more than i already have 20220609_071858.jpg20220609_071853.jpg20220609_071849.jpg20220609_071841.jpg already have.

It's your first grow bud fimming, topping, training, all that stuff that we use to increase quantity and quality can only be effective if one can take a healthy plant into and through flower. Honestly first grow just need to worry about the plant its health, wellbeing and what's needed in order to keep that plant healthy. First grow learn your plant, medium, nutrients. Bud you started in april and have like 3 or 4 nodes, no sense in adding more to the fire right now. Getting that plant vegging and healthy should be priority one. Next grow once you've gotten the basics down then worry about advancing your growing methods. Good luck bud

It's gotten warmer since april may look into watering practices. Personally I've grown in 37°F

You're def not wrong lol. There's just so much information I'm taking in right now. Haha. Yeah it has gotten warmer, which is why they're outside now. It's steadily above like 73 here in the day, gonna be high 70s to low 80s for like the next two weeks

Yea man, plenty of information to keep you busy the only information you need tho is right in front of you. That plant will tell you everything you need to know just gotta watch it and pay attention to responses.

Lucky you lol

Yeah. I need to better my understanding of what the plant needs, whether it's more light, water, nutrients, etc. I'm afraid of over watering
Overwatering is about the only thing that will stunt a seedling or plant. As mentioned its warmer cant blame the cold. Being 4 nodes in 2 months is why I suggested watering practices. Need to water the plant not the pot, until you have a healthy thriving growing plant with a developed root system

A couple cups of water daily ( since outside ) or every other day should be all the water that plant needs rn. Need to either water off pot weight or if you're not watering enough to use weight. I used to make my seedlings pass 3 test before I'd water.
1-does the top soil appear dry- if yes
2- does the top soil feel dry meaning if I touched it does it move around freely- if yes
3- does the soil right underneath top soil look and feel dry

Only if the soil passed all 3 of those test would I water. You could also stick a finger in soil to check moisture. If its wet at all no water

That's what I thought i was doing. When it was little (still is lol) I wasn't watering the whole pot. Just where the plant was. And when it felt really light I'd water it again. Which was usually 3 or 4 days. So idk I feel like I'm barely watering them. Like that water that's in the pots that you can see is from Tuesday morning. Oh well. First grow, gotta live and learn. Thank you, by the way :)

I may be mistaken just not too many things will stunt growth on small plants. Personally I've never ran across anything but overwatering that will stunt growth for months. Most other issues the small plant will just die. The drooping and browning of tips is also a sign could be prolonged over watered. Ocean forest is hot it's what I use and have used for almost 5 years. Only have had one plant a very long time ago think it was too hot... probably something I did vs soil. You could also be phing water which isnt needed in organic mixes until you start a feeding regiment of liquid nutrients. If you ph a soil with a already neutral ph you could effect the rhizosphere negatively

I agree with grobud I would just carry it along and work on understanding how to grow a healthy plant
Yeah. Got a little over my head. The adhd hyper fixation is real. Must know everything about the hobby LOL. yeah I'm gonna just focus on keeping them healthy. So wild though, only watered them like every 3 to 4 days and was still doing too much. They are definitely starting to grow way faster in these pots now. It's not going to rain for a few days and it's been 2 since they got water. I'll def keep everyone updated for sure.
