Hello there,

this is the first time i get premium seeds and try to grow them myself with absolutly no help (only help taken from a lot of youtube videos and grow chronic documental).

last time i tried to do it was with some seeds a friend gave me but they ended all dead because i watered too much i think..

well.. let's start shall we?

Day 1:

i went to my local hardware store and i bought some ph 6.3 soil (because the one i have it's ph 5) and i did this because i dunno how to ph up or down the soil with vinegar or baking soda, i don't have a measuring system so i just looked for the one with the most friendly ph. I also got some fertilizer and some rooting compound (yeah, i want to clone later).

the seeds came yesterday and i'm ready to start the germination process.

i will use a different systemto germinate because the one you need a glass flask and put cotton inside it didnt work the last time... i just killed the seeds with fungus or something like that.

my so called "equipment" right now is:

1. 25 kilograms of ph 6.3 soil
2. fertilizer (250ml)
3. flowering fertilizer (250ml)
4. rooting compound (100ml)
5. a lot of pots
6. a heater (because here in south america is winter now)
7. a fan (to keep air moving)
8. a 120 leds mini lamp (made by myself)
9. a black plastic wine bottle container (i will post a pic of this. i've got it from a wine seller who left it in the street)
10. rubbing alcohol (i want to keep every container, flask, tool really clean so i use it very often)
11. cotton

plastic pots, electricity, water (lol) etc etc etc.

I placed the seeds inside the black plastic which has good tiny spaces in between seeds. I placed one per hole and using a syringe i managed to drop a few water drops on top of the seeds very carefully. After this i will try to use the heater as much as i can to maintain a good warm temperature inside my room.

if the seeds gets too much water i will use the fan system i made so the water gets dry faster and the seeds are not in danger to have diseases.

Day 2:

i've checked the seeds, there havent cracked yet, i had to put them more water because the cotton was really dry. i used the heater a lot today because it was really cold...

Day 3:

one of the afghan seeds have succesfully cracked and it has a thick white thing coming out.

yeserday night i put one Super skunk seed into a pot with dirt (ph 6.3) to see what happens... this seed has already cracked too but it doesnt have a white thing coming out...

both recipiens were kinda dry so i used a spray bottle to give them water and i going to turn on the heater for like 4 hours so the room gets a nice temperature today.

Day 4:

i'm happy today because two more seed have cracked today and there are just 2 left to have all seeds cracked.

the first one that cracked 2 days ago i had to move it into a little "handmade" pot, it's really tiny, i made it with the cap of a yogurt can (it's not metal, it's made of plastic) i had to drill some holes in the bottom of it and it some dirt, i removed the cotton before transplant it. I did all this because the white thing was becoming really big and i saw there was no room for it to grow vertically...

one of the new seeds that cracked today also had a white thing coming out so i create another homemade pot for that one too.

so i have 2 SuperSkunk and 2 Afghan growing! :D

i watered twice today and i used the heater on 2 times for about 2 hours

Day 5:

another seed cracked!!! im so happy almost all the seeds are not open and growing healthy! i checked all seeds and not one has been infected with fungus or any other disease.

i had to transplant some seeds to homemade pots using yogurt cans. I used an iron solder to make holes in the bottom of the pots so the water goes away.

i watered the seeds just once today because it was a hot day with a lot of humidity in the air (i checked it online)

the heater was off all day because we had a nice hot temperature (i will save $$$)

Day 6:

today the last seed cracked! i'm really excited because now all my seeds are growing!

i went to burger king and i got 2 sprites (one for me and another for my gf) and i used the glasses (dunno if you call them like that, i'm not good at english) to create new pots so i filled them with soil and i made a few holes on them and i moved 2 seeds (the ones that opened first) there.

one of the Afghan has 2 little green leafs coming out from the very first node.

one of the Superskunk is showing also 2 leafs, but they are not wide open yet..i think it will take one more day.

so all the seeds are cracked and healthy.

today was a hot day for winter...like 24 degrees celcius so i didnt used the heater at all...

i moved the container with all seedlings next to the window so if they can get some sunlight!

next week i will try to buy a cheap closet (around 50 $) and i will "hack" it to create my very first own grow closet :)

Day 10:

i created a mini grow section in my room to help the plants grow faster but they are growing really slow... one of the plants has a tiny leaf that is become yellow... i think it's a lack of nitrogen...

i placed the 100w clf lamp 10 cm above the plants and its on from 6am to 12pm all days..

good job dude - you're not getting much help but keep up the good work. stay patient and don't be too quick to try to fix anything with nutes - remember they are weeds and they are going to grow. when I feed nutes I start out at 25% recomended strength and only feed every other watering. after a few weeks I might bump it to 50%. looking forward to the next set of pictures!

btw - i tried to grow some mazar x afghan (came free with some seeds i bot) of the 5 seeds, 4 were female and the one male grew too tall with too much space between the nodes. plant wasn't treated any different then some other ones that grew just fine. so, i didn't have much luck with mazar x a.

hey jeffchr!! thanks for the info!

i just used a tiny coffee spoon of fertilizer, that was whta the package said... it's the first time i use a solid fertilizer so i didnt add much... it was a 15 15 15 mix, i think that's ok... i dunno,...

today i prepared and added a mix of organic compound and dirt and perlite to help the plants to grow better, i did this because some plants had a lot of free space so i filled that space with prepared soil.

there's a big difference since i started doing things in a "proper" way, i saw the day 17 pictures and today's pic and there's a huge evolution in the growing process of the plants... ligh(6500kt, 18 hours using a timer) , temperature (in between 20 and 30 degrees celcius), better soil (i added perlite plus organic compound), better water (plus bottled water) and i use tap water but from yesterday, i just fill a cnotainer and i leave it there until the next day (did you reailzed that you can smell the chemicals on the water? like chlorus?(i dont know english very well.)

today is day 23!

so, hope you like the pictures!

day 30:

plants succesfully passed the shock of being transplanted into bigger pots... but the 2 tiny ones have their roots coming out everywhere in the pot, i can easily see roots coming out the soil ... i think i will have to get bigger pots for these ones...

the other 4 are growing healthy i think and everything seems good, i didn't changed anything... i just add them bottled water few times a day... and the time is 18/6, seems to work great,..

i try to sing a lot in front of them... and i use the fan 30 mins per day... i open constatly the doors so they have fresh air...

i guess thats all for today, check the pictures

Wow! Really looking awesome motz.

15-15-15 is a pretty rounded, high fertilzer. Start off with a low dose of it, and then work your way up in dosage.
What are the numbers for the flowering fertilzer?

What is the height of the room you are growing in? Those plants could stretch a lot in flower real fast, so if you don't want them to get too out of control, consider putting them into flower soon.

I've got some of the Mazar I Sharif as freebie seeds too once. My buddy really wanted them so I traded him for some soil nutrients! haha.

Looking great though man, keep it up!

i used only 1/3 of a solid nutrients solution (15-15-15) mixed with the soil of the 4 bigger pots. thats all fertilizer i've got.

the one in the right corner (down) had yesterday liquid fertilizer (14-7-5) i used 1/3 strenght. just to test.

and that's all

thank you for posting! :D

the flowering fertilizer is 7-7-9 is a liquid one and it says i ahve to use it once per 14 days.. it says i have to mix a cap with 2 litters of water.. but i didn't used it yet, i will wait until i know the sex before using it.. i don't want males to grow too fast

today i've started flowering (12/12) so we will see the sex in a couple of days...

the closet's dimensions are 1.39 tall x60wide x 50 cm

you got many females from the mazars?

btw, thank you for reading and posting! :D

Day 34:

today is the third day of the flowering state, i had to switch to this so can know which sex the plants are and also because i am runnning out of space in my closet.

i used a flowering fertilizer with 3 of the plants (the ones in the back) at full strength and it seems it didn't killed the plants because i put it yesterday and they are not bad at all.
