First Grow Skunk #1 54w x 8 t5's

:leaf:So this is my first grow, and growing journal. I'm growing 15 clones of Skunk #1. I got the clones on March 2nd. The first roots were seen on March 13 on 2 plants, by the 18th 11/15 had very nice roots showing through the cups.:leaf:

I'm growing in a 4'9"x4'9"x6'5" grow-lab tent. I have a Bad-boy t5 lighting system, with 8 4' t5 ho bulbs. Thinking I'm going to add some led panels on the sides to supplement the t5's. Growing in sunshine advanced mix #4 soil-less mix. Using general organics line of nutrients. I also have a charcoal filter set up along with an ostberg inline fan.

they look good ..second pic is normal growth with clones. sometimes they only grow 3 finger leaves after. might wanna give a lil bit of growth nutes, they look a lil lime green. thisis a good strain, pretty nute tolerant and easy to grow

I've given them their first dose of nutes, but I have a question. Should I water daily with my nute water, or alternate every other day between nutes and plain water? And should I measure and adjust the pH of the water before I add the nutes or after? or both?

:leaf:Today we're moving the grow-lab to a bigger room, so I will have more space to work with them. New pics soon to come.:leaf:

In veg I'd only feed them once a week and water as needed with plain old PH'd water but up it when you get into flowering to perhaps twice a week or as needed.

With regards to your LED, it's a pity you did not get the 260W as you have 4'9" squared, that's not small for the lights you have, you may struggle with intensity throughout the space. I'm still a bit unsure how many plants you intend flowering out...was it 11 or 15? And are they all clones? Sorry I'm just stoned and have had a few ciders tonight!

:leaf:The led wont replace the t5s, it'll be added to them. I think I'm going to put the led closest to the door, maybe scoot the t5s back a bit, then just rotate the crop around as needed. Flowering out 15, I had 11/15 ready to transplant at one time, the other 4 were straggling behind but, are now transplanted also. They are all clones, cut on the 2nd or March.:leaf:

Hard cider is the best! :eyesmoke:

:leaf:We moved the grow-lab into a bigger room, created a window blocker and vented the exhaust out it, installed the carbon filter and got all the girls situated for the night. So here's what it looks like now. Do the pics of leaves close up look like some kind of deficiency? They look kinda scrunched, it's only top newer leaves, is this normal?:leaf:

Hey thanks for the friend request. They look great, the slightly lighter greening is just the new growth coming through, rather a bit low on the feed than too much I say. I originally was thinking about the two lights in there but looking at the pics now I realise the T5's are quite big. When I started growing I had 8x 250W HO CFL's which seemed like a lot then but after the first grow I realised the limitations, I am however not saying you should go out and replace them at all. I'm sure that will happen naturally down the line.

I suggest keeping the T5 above the canopy as close to it at all times and then have the LED at an angle pronounced towards the plants on one side. I would then rotate the plants around the side that gets the most intense light every day.

I think your biggest goal right now would be to keep the stretch in control during the first 2-3 weeks of flower otherwise you will have a lot of popcorn in your harvest.

They look very good though so well done so far!

:leaf:Yea, the lights need to be really close now, I turned all 8 on and right now it sits at 83*F and 36% humidity. The lights are about a foot above the tops of the plants. Should I worry about the temps being that high and humidity that low? I'd love for it to stay in the 70's and 50%. I'm thinking that I'll put the led light near the front zipper entrance angled in towards the middle of the tent. But those close ups of the leaves don't seem kinda scrunched up to anyone? Rather than being flat like the rest of em. And thanks newworldicon I'm doing the best I can with the knowledge that I have, the rest is luck!:leaf:

An inch is pretty close but if they dont seem to mind then leave it, although it may be better to ease up a touch and have say 3 inches just for safety sakes. You can't undo burning tips. A good grower will be more comfortable not pushing them to the max all the time settling for consistency. Perhaps the heat is a result of the wrinkly new leaves but give them a break, everyone was wrinkly when they were born.

Also if you have the T5 so close then it seems impossible to get the LED in there. LED/ plants \T5 ?

Upon reading it again I see that it is not an inch, where did I get that from. Damn this sharksbreath is good or I am getting stupid!! I think you could get the T5 lights closer than a foot, you may well need to, the coverage or intensity is very lacking in flouro. Otherwise I'm sure they will turn out okay.
