First grow, is my box good enough?

ok the box is about 2 feet tall, a foot deep and a foot wide. the tube is a 20 watt t10 grow light. the cfls are a 23 watt a 18 watt and a 7 watt. is this enough to produce bud? and the plant just sprouted about a day or two ago.

if that is the only plant you have, i would certainly consider upping the power level in your lights. go grab a couple of the 42W cfl's with daylight lumens, they are about 9 bucks and will be perfect for what you have there for a set up. For one plant, I'd say have at least 2 of those mixed with a couple of the 23 watters. Lookin' good though man, you'd be surprised what you'll be able to grow! Good luck!

well i only have enough room for one plant, and i don't really care if it ends up being a boy, cause ill still get some experience with growing and can still try again.

also is the light i have enough to even bud? or do i definitely need to get more or bigger lights?

im not looking for a gigantic yield, as long as i get something ill be happy.
 
u gotta figure out how much u smoke...then figure out how much you'll need for like 120 days/4 months. this amount of weed is what youll wanna be able to produce. that way your not out any $ all year, and ur as high as u wanna be. I know that i couldnt produce enought bud on ur set up to fufill my habits. but some peoples just smoke a lil here and there, and then you'd be good with a stealth cfl box. HPS ur gonna have to think about more serious vents....plus check to see wut the bulb, runs off of (lowes 400w bulb), like it needs a cord set, and a ballast most likely. and i dont advise building a ballast, unless ur expert. might be better ordering a total package from a internet hydro retailer, and getting an air cooled hood, ballast, and bulb.
 
theve probably dont have a pre wired ballast.. i might be wrong, call them talke to electrical department. ... but i notice more of there heavy duty lights hps street lighting say, are made for a proffessional to wire them..if that is the case you would be smoking crack to buy that over a hydro hps set up that has a ballast pro made, with an air cooled reflector, check e bay there dirt cheap if u ask me...its not gonna be 20 bucks, but for wut you'll get for wieght on ur bud outta a 400hps is insane opposed to a few scattered cfls. but be preparted to by a small squirl fan to hook to the hood, via flex ducting all together =$300-$5

yeah i probally will get some.

so for my box how many cfls do you think i would need to grow a good amount of bud in that space? (probally about a foot and a half or a little more of grow space)
 
the box is so tiny id probably stay with wut u have, three sockets, add 3 Y splitters, and replace all the bulbs with 26w cfls for veg, and switch them out to 42w for flower.
 
ok i got another socket, and a 15 watt cfl that im going to add when the lights come back on. so this will bring my total watts to 83, is this enough to produce bud?
 
the plant died... i have no idea why, i did not over water, only watered when the top 3 inches of soil were dry.... i see stupid people on youtube mangeing to get a plant to grow with half the amount of light as me...
 
all i can say is each time is a learning experiment. start more seeds next time...that way if half of them are male, you'll still be good. i get the Y splitter and just stick with 23 or 26 w for veg and 42 for flower. as far as the plant dying , ud prob have to post a pic for some1 to determine its demise
