First grow - I have a few questions

Im looking to start my first closet grow this month and i've decided cfls might be the best option for me. I have read all the stickys in the cfl forum so hopefully this stuff hasn't already been answered.

I am planning on growing 2 plants using 42 watt 6500k bulbs for the first stage and then 42 watt 2700k bulbs for flowering.

-Are these the right bulbs to use?
-How many bulbs of this wattage will i need for each plant?
-What is the best and cheapest fixture to use for these lights? (single bulb fixtures vs. multi bulb fixtures?)


It would be so awesome if someone could help me out with these questions. I am just getting into the world of growing so i need as much help as i can get.

I just started my first grow, check it out in my sig. Also I just ordered those bulbs in 2700k they should be here at the end of the week, then I'm going to start flowering. So if you haven't started growing by then I'll let you know how they are. For veg I used a different bulb, so far they have worked great and are very cheap. I'll put the link below. The light splitter I use is very inexpensive also, it can be found on amazon. I using 4 of each kind of bulb in a 22x22 box.

Yes! But there are cheaper 6500k lights.

It all depends on the size of your grow space, off the top of my head 3-4

A light "Y" splitter is what most people use (Walmart), that with a standard household plug to E27 adapter (Also Walmart) in a power strip/extension cord.

thanks a lot for the response. that ebay link is a great price i think im going to buy those. your grow is looking really good i hope mine turns out that well. im having trouble finding a hanging light fixture and a four way splitter like the one in your picture do you recall what you searched for to find those? or if you have the time would you mind linking me?
