First Grow! how long should i keep the light on my plant? Its 5days old 2inch tall

i have a 60 watt cfl about 3inches away from the plant with aluminum foil for reflectors, i dont want to burn my babys because they are still little. should i keep it on a 20/6 system? if so when should i start such a process? thank you so much
