My plants are 3 weeks old and started strong and healthy. Now neither seem to be growing much. One is starting to develop brow/yellowish spots and the top leaves are starting to curl. Any help would be appreciated.

Soil: MG
Lights: 2x 23w. CFLs
Strains unknown

First 4 pictures are plant one (one starting to brown)
Last 2 are plant 2 (taller one)

Thanks ahead of time

Looks to me like a mix of heat stress and over watering? Whats your temp and watering squedule? I could be wroung I just looked at the diagnose guides for ya which can be found stickeyd at the top of this forum.

yeah i looked in there too, my noob-diagnosis was heat &/or Nute burn. The temp is about 78-81 at the tops of the plants. And my current water cycle is every 2 days in the morning when the lights first come on. The lights are about 4-5in. above each plant and its not hot at all. I can hold the bulbs in my hands while they're on without getting burnt. I know for a fact they we're over water at first, so that got me thinking... could the dead parts be from the over watering in the past?

There are those on this forum who would say you can grow plants just fine in MG. I tend to think those people have just never tried anything better. Hardier species might be able to survive, but they will never flourish, and more finicky plants will never have a chance. Just look at how much bark/wood chips there are in there. Bark is not a good growing medium, it's just cheap, heavy, and has large mass. Also, it looks like there's some salt residue on one of the leaves. If you mist, you need to make sure your water is completely clean. If you're using nutes, stop. MG comes pre-fertilized and the amount of water you pour through them determines how much fert is released. Try to water in less amounts, and when you transplant use a better mix.

Thank all of yall so much. Especially you Air, that makes so much sense (should have been common sense). Do you think they are too old to transplant still or should I just let them ride it out in the MG?

im goin to go with what everyone said and go up a notch and get urself some better soil...i did and man they took off!...i switched from what u have to some very nice fox farm soil ocean forest (imo). but im starting to think its over watering now that i went from thread to thread and its gotta be either over water or over nute or both so.. what i did was splitt watering time in half and same goes for feeding experiment to see what happens...

i just transplanted mine and there over a month old so its your dession be very carefull!!! i broke some roots last grow ='(
