Purple Kush and Purple Urkel

Started my first grow back in June the girls are looking real good right now.
I stated thinking I was going to go hydroponics. But, after a few days I decided to change over to soil. I was having temp problems the outside temps were in the high 90s and my grow room was getting up to 92 degreases.
When I picked up the clones 4 of them were in
Rockwool blocks and the other4 were in this foam stuff. The roots all looked good. So I took those 8 and put them into 4” Rockwool blocks for 3 days. After reading more about hydroponics I decided to change over to Soil. A little more forgiving and I had a better feeling for soil from all my regular indoor gardening. So I transplanted them into 3 gal pots for the long haul. More about that later. Here are some pics of the girl’s right after I got em. 4 Purple Kush and 4 Purple Urkel.

I picked up the clones on June 10th. So that will be my start date. After the temps got so high I new I needed to make same more adjustments to my grow room and my plants themselves. I changed them over to 3 gal containers.
I used Roots Organics for the base soil and I'm using Gen Hydro nutes for these little girls. This is a pic of my grow room a couple of days ago.

Here are the pics after I transplanted them into soil. Now in retrospec I would not put them into these pots so quick. I would put them into smaller Red [plastic cups or what I'm going to start using now is the Carls J or JB large drink plastic cups. There tall alowing the tap root to get better growth and the'll dry out quicker to get the watering up. Watering these small plants in such large containers it takes them for ever to dry out. Second lesson learned!!!

I did some pruning the other day getting ready to start the flowering stage. So here is a close up of a top that I used the FIM technique on.
This is my first attempt so well see how this goes and practice will make perfect.

good luck! On a two week trip to San Fran. I smoked about 1/8th ounce of 20 different strains and Purple Urkel was by far the strongest, best tasting, best looking, best weed I smoked there. I just smoked a roach I found from a month ago and I am ripped. I wish I could find some PU for my next grow. I sure didn't have anything like it on my first grow.

There's alot of clones to be found around here of the P Urkel. I picked these up in San Jose. I little longer in the flowering state but I feel it's well worth it.

I flipped them yesterday so today is day ONE of the flowering cycle. I'll start posting some picks as the buds start to form. I cleaned up the lower parts of the plants also for better ventilation

The purple Kush is starting to show signs of budding. The littel white hairs are startng to show.
I'm not seeing that yet on the purple Urkel. I feed them nutes today. Im pleased with there growth. The Urkel's are all at 23"-25" and the Kush are running from 16" to 18" all are fairly bushy.

Thanks for the comments and thanks for coming by! I started off with a 400 watt 10k mh bulb for the veg state. I was getting a lot of foliage and they were very bushy. So, I switched over to a HPS for a couple of weeks before flipping them to get a little better stretch. It worked well. I'm pretty excited!!!

Maybe I should try that... I've noticed my plants are starting to get bushier and bushier and haven't really started to grow vertically too much (with the exception of one of them)... 2 of my plants have leaves that are pushing up against the insides of their pots already.

That change alone will get them to stretch. After about three days you should notice a little difference. At least with my plants. Mine are all close to 100% indica so there going to be bushy and not as much height as stains with more sativa in them.
