Hi everyone,

I have been posting my progress in the almost 2000 page bubbleponics thread but thought I would now start my own thread to show my grow and get tips. I am now 42 days into my grow and went into 12/12 on Saturday. My setup is:

DR80 Grow Tent (34" x 34" x 63")
Bubbleponics system from SH
4" Vortex fan with a HEPA filter for air intake to the tent
6" Vortex fan for ventilation out of the tank into a 6" Mountain Air Carbon FIlter
5 6" airstones
Sunleaves 600 gph air pump
2 x 85w CFL, 1 2700k, 1 6500k
2 x 65w CFL, 1 2700k, 1 6500k
2 x 42w CFL, 2 2700k
4 x 48" T-5 vertically in each corner of the tent. Ran 6500k for veg, switched to 3000k for flowering.

I am growing 4 bubbleicious feminized seeds from Nirvana. Nutes consist of General Hydroponics FloroMicro, FloroGro, FloroBloom all at 75% recommended dosages, increasing nitrogen during transition period and a little in bloom. Also supplementing with Cal-Mag.

Temp: 69.5
pH: 6.8
Water temp: 67.2
ppm: 1200 (w/ cal-mag)
humidity: 68%

Below are pictures of my grow week by week. As you can see I had a hard time getting started. Over fed the plants from the start and had a couple stubborn sprouts. Later, I think they were underfed and starting having some leaves turn color and curl up. Found my ideal nute mixture and have had huge growth over the last 2 weeks. Right now my tallest plant is at 22" and going down to my runt of 15". My tent was getting too crowded, so even though I thought they could use another week of veg to mature, I had to turn them over to bloom.

Now for questions,

I am now having to deal with my humidity issue I have in my grow area. I am currently running at about 68%. I'm sure it will go down now that I am not misting the leaves since I am now in bloom. What is the highest that my humidity should be for bloom? What is ideal?

If I can't get it down I plan on getting a couple compact dehumidifiers to place in my tent to try to lower it some. I have added more airflow through the tent hoping that it will lower the humidity as well.

Can anyone tell me if this is a preflower? It seems that all 4 of my plants have what I'm thinking are female preflowers, if that is what this picture is.

Congrats on getting to this point mr. mojo! It looks like you've overcome your feeding problems, so good job on that. During flowering, your humidity should ideally be below 40% and as low as possible during the last 2 weeks or so. High humidity won't be harmful, but you should try to get it lower if at all possible to prevent mold. As for the preflowers, that one in the pic is definitely female. It's very difficult to differentiate between male and female preflowers, but once you see those two hairs coming out, you can be sure it's a girl. I subscribed, so if you have more questions, shoot. Keep up the good work!

Thanks!!!

I'm working on the humidity. I don't understand why the humidity in my room where my tent is has seemed to increase over the last month. I am in the north and it has been quite cold and what I thought was really dry. We have to have humidifiers in the rest of the house. Going into 12/12 has increased my humidity I guess since the lights are off for half the day. I have ordered 2 mini dehumidifiers from Amazon for $40 each. I plan on putting one in the tent and one in the room where the tent is. I know I have no chance of getting it below 40%, but I am aiming for 50%. Right now it is holding at 60%.

hippy,

I love the tent. It really helps. I know I am going to be way too crowded with 4 plants in there, but I had to try. I think 2 is probably ideal for my size tent. Three would likely be fine as well. I feel that my canopy is so thick at this point that a lot of undergrowth is not getting the light it should. I have to go in several times a day and try to open the canopy in diferent areas to make sure light gets down to the bottom. THat is a bit of a pain. I'm sure it's only going to get harder to control as the next couple of weeks go on.

I purposely picked this tent due to it's size and made a cart for it. This size tent fits through my doors and I can move the whole operation around to another room if needed in an emergency. That was the bigget reason of my choice. If room allows, I would probably buy one with more horizontal room so the plants aren't so cramped.

THe tent is amazing for keeping light in and out. I close that thing and with all the lights blasting cannot see anything. No light leaking at all. It also seems great for odor contol. It almost feels like a vacuum seal when I close that thing. I couldn't be any happier with the tent. I do live in a cold climate and would see issues with it if you lived in a warm climate, but it is ideal for my situation.

Mojo,Believe me when I say my closet is getting too crowded as well .I have 4 plants in my 6 hole res (same one as yours), and I have to be carefull when I close the closet door so I don't break my plants! I'm seriously thinking about a 4x4x7 tent for my office bedroom. The 400 watt hps thats hanging with my plants now has to be raised and I need to remove the shelf my ballast is on cause I can only raise my light 5 more inches before I'm hitting the last shelf in the closet! I never thought that these plants would get this damn big! And I just started flowering 4 days ago. Thank god my humidity and heat isn't giving me any problems.I needed a humidifyer to raise mine to 40% and my temp is about 74 average. Is this your first indoor grow ? Your plants really look healthy have they all shown their sex yet? I'm still not possitive here yet but they look like they might be girls , I hope I get at least 3 ! Good luck with the flowering stage we should have a good late Jan harvest!!

This is my first grow....indoor or outdoor. I've had a lot of help from MostlyCrazy getting through my nute problems. And I probably wouldn't have even done it without reading all of Roseman's info and tutorials and having that much detailed info available. I took out the magnifying glass last night and can say I definitely have 3 females. My runt is the only one I can't tell for sure yet. That one seems to be a week behind the other three since the day I started.

I think that 4x4x7 tent would be the perfect size for 4 plants. I wish right now I had another foot on each side. I was going to do a 250w HPS for flowering but didn't because of my height constraints. I don't think I'll have enough room from the top of my plants to the light in order to run the HPS. I can get a couple inches away with the CFL's. I'm just supplementing along the sides with T-5 bloom bulbs since I can't run cfl's on the side due to the tent size. Hopefully it will be enough light.

sry not preflowering mine also look like that in the begining and they turn out to be male plants neways im in my 1st grow so keep asking just my thought

I'm now in week 2 of flowering and wanted to show my progress. I now see female pre-flowers on all 4 of my feminized plants. It is pretty clear now that they all have the pistils showing.

Things have been pretty stable this week and they seem to really like my 2-2-3 blooming mix of the GH 3 part system. I'm also running with cal-mag and plan on adding a little liquid karma this week. I also have gotten my humidity to 55% without a dehumidifier. I'm hoping when I get one in this week that I can get it down to 50%.

My big change this week was in lighting. I was starting to feel like the CFL's were not penetrating deep enough into the plants from above the canopy in my tent. The T-5's just aren't cutting it for side lighting so I was supplementing with more CFL's. I had 7 cfl's in the tent piled on top of each other above the canopy. I am also dealing with temperatures dropping where I live and find my low 24 hour temp starting to creep below 60.

I felt the added heat, added lumens and increased penetration through the canopy was going to be better in the long run. So, I added a 250 watt HPS to the lighting mix. Now I am running with temps around 73 rather than 65. I have removed 3 of the CFL's so I am running the HPS and 4 CFL's in the corners....along with the T-5's.

A couple pics from today with my new HPS:

Thank you very much!!!

All is not going well right now in my grow. I'm starting to see some things that are concerning me I was hoping to get some input on.

1) When I take a look at my plants I notice some of my leaves have wet spots on the surface. But, it doesn't seem like water. It has a lemony type smell to it. Do leaves typically leach out water or anything like that? I have never done a grow before so I have nothing to use as a reference except the material on this forum. I can't find any description like this in my grower's bible. Pic below.

2) I am noticing some holes and areas in a few leaves that looks like a bug might have gotten in. I searched for two hours this morning with a magnifying glass looking for anything. I do notice that near the wet areas, are some of these holes. I'm wondering if they are connected? As a precaution I went to my local store to pick up some neem oil. I ended up coming out with Azatrol. I was told that Azatrol is the active ingredient of neem oil, only the azatrol is in a liquid form and does not solidify at 65 degrees. He recommended that I use this product instead. I wanted to make sure this is an insect and not something else before I treat it as an insect. Can anyone tell from the picture below? Anyone use Azatrol? It is expensive stuff!!

3) I am seeing some brown spots develop on some of my bigger leaves. Today I noticed it on new growth. Does this look like nute burn? It's popped up on the middle of a couple leaves and on the edges of a few more. Isolated brown/dead spots.

If anyone could help me out with any of these issues it would be greatly appreciated!!

Wet spots:

Eaten?

Dead spots. Nute Burn?

I saw all three of those things during my first grow. Are the wet spots where other leaves were touching it? That's where i saw the moisture on my plants because the leaves do release evaporated water into the air, just like every other living thing. IDK about the holes but I did see it on just one leaf of one of my plants, but it was there since the leaf just started forming so I think it's just a deformity, but don't quote me on that. And the dead spots, I saw that too, and it looks like heat stress/burns but is it on the top leaves closest to the light?

Yes!! Thank you!! It is usually where I see two leaves touching. It makes sense that is what was happening. I just wanted to make sure.

I was thinking deformity with the holes too. I wanted to see if other people experience this. I couldn't find any evidence of bugs, but that doesn't mean anything. Would it be bad to treat as a precaution just in case? I'm only in week 2 of flowering.

Maybe my new HPS is too close? I have it about 14 inches off the canopy and where that leaf was in the picture. I do also have a CFL about 5 inches away. I notice it be happening lower in the plant on 2 leaves as well that do not get much light. Is 14 inches too close for a 250w HPS? My tent is running at 72 degrees with the HPS on. It gets down to 64 when the lights go off.

Yes overlapping leaves creates moisture.
The holes on the leaves happend to me, I had no insect problem. I think it just happens sometimes, not every leaf on the plant will be perfect.
The discoloration or gold/rust spots for me looks like slight nute burn or a rapid PH fluctuation. Again it doesn't look serious and I wouldn't worry to much about the holes or the discoloration.
Just keep an eye on them and if the problem continues or gets worse remember you can always drain and replenish and that solves the majority of problems you'll encounter.

Hi everyone!! Just wanted to give my progress now in week 3 of flowering. I am seeing little buds developing all over the place. I have a couple that look like they are going to be huge. I'm still a little concerned about more and more leaves browning (about 12 now). They are browning from the middle, not really from the tips or corners. I'm also lowering my nutes and running at about 900 ppm. That is the lowest I've been in weeks and I am still seeing this browning. Does this still look like nute burn or a deficiency? I'm feeding 1.5-1.5-2.5 of GH three part system per gallon. 5ml of cal-mag per gallon and 7.5 ml per gallon of liquid karma. pH is very steady at 5.8 - 6.0.

I also wanted to metion that I added a dehumidifier this week and this little machine works really well. It doesn't make a sound. I added an HPS and lowered my humidity from 60% to 53%. I added in the dehumidifier and now I got it down to 43%. I couldn't recommend it highly enough if you grow in a cabinet and need to lower humidity. I got it from Amazon:
