First grow AUTOFLOWERS -questions-

hey everyone, just wanna say this is an AWESOME thread.. I've been baked all day reading page after page lol.

I'm gonna be growing some autos here in about a month, I think I have just about everything down, but still a few questions. Here is my set up:

* 8' high 2' deep 5' wide closet
* 400W HPS
* FFOF soil
* 8 23W CFL's ( 2 bulbs in 4 clamp fixtures)
* carbon filter + fan?

Questions:

* what are the most popular/common strains for yield/potency
* what's the best way to start/germinate auto seeds?
* will seedlings be ok under the 400W HPS?
* can I have a carbon filter without needing ductwork and stuff? I would prefer just the filter and an inline fan
*can someone explain a nute schedule for autos please? I will be using fox farm nutes and FFOF soil

Hi,

In order of questions:

* Anything from Lowlife is potent. The AK47 yields the most in almost all cases. Buddha seeds White Dwarf and Red Dwarf are apparently very good and give decent yields. Don't go anywhere near Nirvana's autos as they rarely auto-flower. Joint Doctor's Easy Ryder yields well and is a good quality smoke. Lowryder 2 is also nice but doesn't yield as well as the others. I've also heard good things about 's Dinafem's Roadrunner.
* The best way in my opinion is to plant them directly into soil 1/2 an inch down. You can also use the paper towel method.
* Yes. Just make sure they are not too close or they will burn very easily. 22-24 inches away from the bulb should be fine.
* I've never used one so I can't give you advice on that. Hopefully someone else can.
* Start feeding around week 3. Only go 1/4 strength to begin with and gradually work your way up to full strength. I feed every second watering. (once a week)
