hey guys, im 26 days into my first grow of one plant, and i havent had any problems that i've found very alarming or that i couldnt find a simple explanation for, so i'd like to think im doing fairly well as a complete noob.

this was a bag seed i germed just to see if i could, i was planning on starting my first grow but wasnt near ready yet, so after (s)he popped, i rushed to walmart and got some cheap MG perlite just to have SOMETHING to put her in.

i kept 2 23w 6500k cfl's about 1" from new growths, and repotted to canna coco in a 16 oz party cup after 4-5 days, and then again into a 5.25" square pot in another 10 days or so.

now im at 26 days, it went into my cab at 20 days and so has been under 12/12 with a 400w hps for almost a week now, as my cabinet is pretty damn small and i hadnt meant to let her veg for more than 2 weeks.

i dont have a camera thats worth a damn but ive got a few pics, would just like to know what someone who knows more might think.

try not to be too harsh, like i said, its my first go.

oh, and one pic shows a hole in a leaf where im pretty sure i splashed some too-strong nute solution on her, and also, i think ive hit her a touch on the strong side throughout.

another pic is no flash where i think she looks a very nice green.

AND, i accidentally dropped a power strip with 2 cfl's sticking out of it on her, shame on me, and broke off the fan leaf and growth from one side of her 1st node. this happened when she was at probably 4 nodes total.

THANKS!

Hey Ryhno, good looking first grow there. The first picture seems to me you might have a nitro deficiency. As to your height problem have you tried lst or scrog? works great for me, and also makes more colas, im pretty sure you know what that means :bigjoint: . As for your plant in general looks pretty indica dominate so it shouldnt get to tall hopefully. IMHO since you are growing in soil i would just flush with just ph'd water for a few waterings let her recover a little and then start her back on nutes.

thanks for your response! ive used canna coco nutes so far, and i REALLY messed up my math for one mix and it was way too strong, this was a couple weeks back. i've gone with just ph'd water the last 3 waterings, which are just about daily now. im a little concerned with how quick its getting dry, i actually built my box around 8-9 pots this size and had not intended to pot up again, but im seeing roots out the bottom of my pot already. ive got a little less than an inch of hydroton at the bottom, the rest is straight canna coco. to me, (s)he looks a little yellow at the edges, but not much at all. all the different nutes and stuff make my headspin, thats probably been the hardest part of my new hobby to get figured out, and im still working on it.

is there something i can add to my nutrient solution to raise its N a little, i dont wanna get away from the canna coco line if i can avoid it, as its pretty simple. i need to pick up some pk13/14 but all ive used so far is the A+B and touch of superthrive.

thanks again!

looks good man, deffinately a indica dom. just like greengrower said just use ph'd water for a couple watering n u should be ok with overfert. probably wont get too tall since its an indica. does it have preflowers or are you force flowering? i wouldnt worry about the N if you keep your ph in check, plus you wanna use less since your flowering

I'm force flowering now, has been under 12/12 for a week or so, and I haven't seen any signs of preflower yet. I'm just praying for a girl now. Has only had ph'd water for 3 days now, lights on overnight and in the mornings my pot feels very light to me. I really don't want to go any bigger than a 6" square pot, its in a 5.25" square now and if I bow out the sides there are roots starting to grow along the sides. Do you or anyone know about what volume of media a 5.25" and/or 6" square pot holds?

Thanks again for the replies!
