First CFL Grow

Hey guys, and ladies bongsmilie

I recently started my first CFL grow about 3 weeks ago after I picked up some Lemon skunk clones.

I did a lot of reading first before starting and just learning the basics and some more to grow. Being on a budget I decided that for now, CFL are the way to go until I can upgrade. So, with that being said right now I'm only watering with lemon juice to bring down the PH. My soil is a blend of ocean forest, and happy frog. I haven't found a good PH that I trust to use especially pool PH down. So if you'd like to throw me a tip there that would be great. I've transplanted twice into their final homes and they're about 2' tall now. Not sure how tall I'm going to get them but I have room for 6 ft max in my basement, but im thinking only 3.5 sounds good. Since this is a first time for me I'm really looking for some tips, pointers on anything that you have in mind or want to add. I'm probably going to update this here and there until harvest now so hold on for the ride :peace:.

here is my sour d clone in her 7th week of flower that wifey bought me for my anniversary, and as my first indoor cfl grow, i have been using earthworm organic worm casting soil with added egg shells, organic grow for food along with urine coconut water, wood ashes, molassas now, 11x23 watt cfl bulbs with baking soda and viniger for her C02...heres a couple of pics let me know if im doing ok or should be doin better...

Hey peeps!
Well, my phone broke so I couldn't give any real updates through pictures. Today I got a new one so here we go. Since my last post I let veg for another 2 weeks. I put into flower 16 days ago. They stretched and started popping flowers. I got my hands on some real PH down, and also grab some Big Bud nutes that I'm going to run for probably 6-7-8 weeks depending on how these go in the process. I've done some research and I guess these can go past their actual flower of 8-9 weeks . I'm still using CFL so I'm thinking these buds will be light and fluffy but who cares for a first time grow this was basically just to see If I could do it smooth sailing and it has been pretty easy I must say. I did do some reading and research first so I'm thinking that helped me out.

I do have a couple questions. Better light (LED or CMH) danker flowers? these clones aren't putting out any 7 leaf fans is that because they have been cloned a lot? any advice or answers help thank you!

You should probably scrog it so your canopy is even, something about getting more quantity.

well my lights came in today. Not sure if I'm going to use CFL anymore just for that fact that when I tried to use them I didnt see anything about using maybe a few with these LED lights.

Nice. I've got a led panel on top n cfl's under the main canopy to help. LEDs have a different wave length than cfl's, I could be wrong but I don't think extra lights like cfl's would hurt.
If you video your plants with your led on you'll see what I mean. It's all about photons n wave length. Sounds like Star Trek. Lol

Been using big bud advanced nutes, going to continue for another week. Just scooped up some Overdrive and some flawless Finish. Going to be using the OverDrive 4-8 and run flawless and flush 8-9 or a little different depending on how she reacts and what the tricomes start doing. Heard and read on here and a few other forums that Lemon Skunk can go past the actual 8-9 weeks. So it's really all going to depend what happens. Have a good weekend!

Day 30. Final week of Big Bud Advanced, going to maybe do one more week I'm not sure. I'm thinking of doing over drive week 5-6 then flawless finish week 7 and ph/water week 8. It's a 8-9 week flower time so........ I could do big bud one more week over driver 6-7, flawless finish week 8 and ph water flush week 9.....guess I need to watch tricome's now.

How do you like the blurple lights?
Your plants are looking very nice.

Haha! The "Blurple" lights been reading that a lot every where. Honestly I'm using viparspectra. I'm only doing two so I endedd up getting 2 300W one for each plant. Amazon had a killer deal I think two were 140$ and they were marked off for each one like $50z so I really ended up for two for the actual msrp of one. It made it easier to sleep at night with all those CFL gone.

As for do I like them? I'm always honest. They're easy to set up. They're easy to run. They don't run hot. They are nice for a person in a personal grow. The buds will probably be a little "airy" but I think they work and be actually damn decent for density. I would recommend them for an average joe. But if your looking for huggggge yields I'd go with these for veg and then get an hps type setup. So I do like them for sure. Defiantly a good upgrade.

I can relate to the cfl's, lol, 400 watts of cfl's will heat up a tent, I have to run an AC in my grow room just from cfl heat. I've got a 300/600 watt cfl coming, I can't wait. Thanks for the info

I think I'm at about 18-22 inches. I just read what the manual said about them. I know a lot of people say these are really only good for veg but they did say different heights for seeds, veg, and flower. So I'm just wondering now if I do drop them maybe 5 more inches if the buds density actually increase...not sure maybe do that on my next grow.....to tell the difference....
