Ok, Here are the stats:
I have a bubbleponics 400 watt switchable MH HPS system.
Growing enviroment: 3'x3'x62" high reflective tent. It is set up in my basement.
Lights: 400 watt MH and HPS ready. Also, 4 CFL's putting out about 5000 lumens. Those aren't hooked up right now, however.
Nutrients: Using the stealth Hydro micro, grow, bloom.
Water: I use my brita water. it comes out a PERFECT 6.5. I keep the ph tight.
seeds: 6 Ice, 6 Northern Lights.
Fan: 6" inline fan hooked to cool tube via 9 ft of duct and then stick the other end of duct back into tent for cross ventilation.
To date: ok so I bought 15 seeds, got 12 germinated. 6 are in the bubbleponics planter cups (Already in system), the other 6 are in rock wool gently placed on top of my system. I do this because you can grow all of them in rockwool till you figure sex with a forced fem cycle after some growth. This gives me a better chance at 4 or 5 ladies. A little rudimentary albeit...but there is a kicker...!
9/6/10: Right now, 4 days in, I have the seedlings 4 inches away from the 400 watt MH light!! They are fine in temp with the 435 cc fan blazing through. 4 inches!! completley comfortable temp!
After I got some balls and took the risk of the MH instead of the previous 4 CFL's, as soon as I KNEW the temp was ok..I took this risk: now even my meager seedling are coming around! This was only 4 hours! Imagine the possibilites on 4 ladies who have been getting that kinda juice from so early! For nutrients I put in 1/16 suggested level for a mature plant, everyday.
I put 1 liter of new water a day into the system...at a perfect ph, say 6.2 is what im gtting. I check ph in morning, for adjustement and at night. Listen, PH and the way I do it is.... 1) figure out your waters regular ph...THEN (2)add nutirients according to age, then check ph again, (3) adjust ph with the up or down solution sparingly. Don't bug out over ph! Its an easy usually SMALL change in up/ down formula.
I like the little bit of new water everyday thingy..keeps things fresh. Mental notes to self are get a better air pump for down road..I'm gonna oxigenate the shit out of these plants. Lastly, use common sense...I am turning the water supply on and off every few hours..making sure the plan ts are moist but notso over staurated with water they won't grow for lack of oxygen. Use your green thumb..feel it out. I'll post pics in a few. My humidity is a bit low, around 40, and temp is 75.
