Okay here my very first attempt at growing. I have two baby white rhino seeds, I didn't germ them (stupid I know, been reading and learning a lot on here) just put a put a bunch of seeds in rockwool an these two popped up) I have them in a drip-system under a 125 watt CFL (will be adding side lights and the DIY CO2 as cash permits) ANY and ALL advice would be greatly appreciated. I am mainly trying to get these two to be mothers for a bigger system I am saving up for. THANKS!!!

I like the way your thinking a couple things tho, having both of those grow in the same pot might not work out the best you dont want the roots tangling or fighting for nutes. And the other see if you can switch from a cfl to a hps or mh when it starts to flower. If you cant spring the cash find a cfl thats classified as warm white light instead of soft or cool white.

If you want to keep them as mothers you will need to take a clone from each and flower them to see if you got any females

Your killing your plants! look how overwated your plant is, that rockwool is oversaturated with water!

I;m surprised any of you genius didn't point that out to him.

Okay I will send in an ass-ton pics at 5 weeks if I make it that far. As far as overwatering, it is a drip system that waters constantly should I change that? Or take it out of rock wool and move to net pots? Sorry for all the post but I am confused as shit lol.

Hey whatsup,
Doing great, Glad to see more farmers on the board.
IMHO, I would say...
Dont worry about the cfl's they will do you a wonderful job. more over they cost a fraction the cost.
I dont like the 24/7 myself. I think the plants really do need that down time. I like 18/6.
I am not a hydro person but I have gathered from this board that you would want to put the lights on a timer and put the drip system on a timer. What you need to figure out is the optimal watering time, if the rockwool is soaking wet it wont get air like it needs.
You will need to monitor your bucket very closely, you will let it dry out alittle, then after the top has dried you give it water , just a little mind you. rockwool does not need to be soaked.
Read up on the FAQ's If you can afford it there is a book called gardening with rockwool that may help you.
These peeps around here will keep you going.
Good Luck and Good Grow.
